You’ve tried everything to sleep.

Now what? 🌙

Maybe you’ve tried melatonin. Magnesium. Meditation. A new pillow. An earlier bedtime. No screens. A perfect nighttime routine.

But sleep is STILL taking up way too much space in your brain.

You’re thinking about it during the day. Dreading bedtime. Calculating how many hours you’ll get. Wondering how you’ll function tomorrow. Searching for the next thing that might finally work.

At Sleep Works, we don’t want to give you another random sleep tip.

We want to help you understand why your sleep is struggling in the first place.

We use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) to address the thoughts, behaviours and patterns that can keep insomnia going.

And because your sleep doesn’t exist separately from the rest of your life, support can be adapted for ADHD, perimenopause, chronic pain, shift work, stress and more.

Not sure where to start?

Comment FREECONSULT or DM us FREECONSULT and we’ll send you the link to book a free 15-minute consultation with Marlee or Leah. 💙

No pressure. No sales pitch. Just a conversation about your sleep.

If you think you’ve tried everything to sleep, let us be the last thing you try.

“I was terrified, terrified of everything around sleep.”

That’s how Martha Beck described her relationship with sleep after struggling with lifelong insomnia, before she met Sleep Works.

Then Martha went through our 6-week CBT-I program (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia) with us.

Now?

“I can plan a different life.”

We will never get tired of hearing words like these. 🤍

If you see yourself in Martha’s story—if sleep has become something you fear, fight with or think about all day—Marlee and Leah would genuinely love to talk with you and hear what’s been going on.

If you’ve been struggling with chronic insomnia, changing your sleep habits may not be enough.

CBT-I, or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia, is a structured, evidence-based approach that helps you change the thoughts and behaviours around sleep that can keep insomnia going.

It’s not another bedtime routine.
It’s not a supplement.
It’s not a list of sleep hygiene rules.

It’s a way to understand what may be getting in the way of your natural ability to sleep — and start changing it.

Think you’ve tried everything to sleep?

Let Sleep Works be the last thing you try.

“I was getting up 4–5 times a night…
and everything woke me up.”

If you’re dealing with:
• insomnia
• broken sleep
• waking up all night

You know how fast it takes over everything.

For Jane, it became:
frustration → anxiety → worry → more insomnia

“I tried everything… but nothing fully worked.”

Until something clicked.

Not more effort.
Not more discipline.

👉 A different approach.

CBT-I helps you unlearn the patterns keeping insomnia going.

Now?

“I don’t worry about sleep anymore.”

That’s the shift.

“I was worried because I wasn’t sleeping…
then worried that I was worried.”

That’s insomnia.

For Jane, it started with:
• Waking up easily
• Getting frustrated at night
• Trying everything… nothing working

Then it became:
• Anxiety about sleep
• Strain in her relationship
• Feeling like sleep was taking over her life

Until things shifted.

Not just her sleep — her mindset.

“I don’t worry if I don’t sleep anymore.”

Because insomnia is often a learned pattern.

And it can be unlearned.

Jane learned about Sleep Works and CBT-I through @fidelitycanada 's "Invested in Wellness" podcast series.

“I think I’m a human now.”

That’s what Martha Beck said after healing her insomnia.

Before:
• Years of chronic insomnia
• Severe sleep deprivation
• Feeling broken and exhausted
• Trying everything… nothing worked

After CBT-I:
• Falling asleep naturally
• Waking up with energy
• Living without fear of the night

This isn’t just about sleep.

It’s about getting your life back.

Because insomnia is often a learned pattern —
and it can be unlearned.

If you feel exhausted… but wide awake at night 👀

That’s not a lack of sleep.

That’s a hyperactive nervous system.

Your body is stuck in “on” mode — and it’s learned that pattern.

But learned = unlearnable.

You don’t need an hour-long routine.

Even 10 minutes a day of intentional relaxation can help:

• Calm your nervous system
• Reduce sleep anxiety
• Make sleep feel easier

Small shifts → big impact.

📚 Students: pulling an all-nighter might actually hurt your exam performance.

Sleep is when your brain locks in what you studied. During sleep, your brain strengthens the neural connections that help you remember information later.

Research shows students who sleep after studying can retain up to 40% more information than those who stay awake all night reviewing.

During exam season, try to:

✨ study earlier in the evening
✨ protect 7–9 hours of sleep
✨ get daylight and movement during the day (touch grass!)
✨ dim lights at night
✨ use amber glasses if studying late
✨ keep a consistent wake time

Sleep isn’t lost study time — it’s one of the most powerful tools your brain has for learning.

If your brain turns on the second your head hits the pillow…

This might be why 👇

Your brain has learned:
Bed = thinking, worrying, planning

(Not sleeping)

That’s how insomnia becomes a pattern.

But learned = unlearnable.

In CBT-I, we use stimulus control to reset this:

👉 Can’t sleep? Get out of bed
👉 Do something calm
👉 Go back when you’re sleepy

That’s how you retrain your brain:
Bed = sleep again

ADHD and late-night sleep patterns often go hand in hand.

Many people with ADHD have delayed sleep rhythms, meaning their brain naturally wants to fall asleep later and wake later.

This can lead to:

🌙 difficulty falling asleep
🌙 feeling wired at night
🌙 struggling to wake up in the morning
🌙 chronic sleep deprivation
🌙 worse ADHD symptoms

The good news: there are science-based strategies that can help support sleep for ADHD brains, including stabilizing circadian rhythms and addressing insomnia directly when it becomes chronic.

If you’ve ever stared at the clock doing sleep math…

“Okay if I fall asleep now I’ll get 5 hours…”

That’s insomnia talking.

Those thoughts are normal — but they keep the cycle going.

Because they create sleep anxiety.

And insomnia is often a learned pattern:
👉 worry → pressure → no sleep → more worry

The good news?

Learned = unlearnable.

In CBT-I, we use cognitive restructuring to shift those thoughts:

“I might be tired, but I’ll be okay.”

Less pressure = more sleep.
