This year for my birthday I answered a call that has lived in my heart for as long as I can remember. I traveled to West Africa and visited Dakar, Senegal, and Santa Maria in Cape Verde. The emotions I felt could not be put into words as I stepped off the plane and felt the African sun on my skin for the first time. Every corner was new, but also felt familiar. The cultures are vastly different yet welcoming. Both Senegal and Cape Verde exceeded my expectations. As I spoke to one of my tour guides and told him this was my first time visiting the continent, he reached to shake my hand and then said, "Welcome home brother".

I haven't stopped dreaming of the trip. The people, the landscapes, the most beautiful I've ever seen. It has ignited a spark that I had lost for some time. I can't wait for the next time I am reunited with the continent.

A special shout out to Rebekah for joining me on this whirlwind adventure and watching over me during the moments I felt the most overwhelmed and making sure I made it home in one piece. I can not express the amount of gratitude I have for helping make this trip of a lifetime possible. ❤ by @slicartist

Seasons of Keenon. Another year added. 🎂 by @slicartist

Still reeling from the past week. London was a whirlwind. Met some new faces and connected with old friends.

Shout out to the Polka Theatre for the amazing production. Congratulations, Daniel Bailey on turning this book into the beautiful stage play that it is. Adiel, you were phenomenal as Tunde, and it's even crazier that you actually look like the character from the book! Lol. I look forward to watching your career flourish.

Special shout out to my agent Amy and @illoagency you've been wonderful. And to Sir Lenny Henry, this project has been the gift that keeps on giving. Thank you for bringing me on this journey with you, and for placing my artwork into the hands of children all around the world. I am overwhelmed with gratitude. 🙏🏾

Happy Memorial Day to those that came before me and fought for my freedom, and the freedom of this nation. 🇺🇸✊🏾 by @slicartist

One time for the looks of Morocco, because fashion was present.

It's a real ones birthday today 😎. This past year was spent traveling the world surrounded by the ones that I love most. It's helped me realize that it's ok that everything isn't figured out, and to learn to accept the things that are out of my control and to keep moving forward. Everything isn't perfect, but I'm thankful and blessed to have such amazing people in my life. Here's to more tavel and never stopping. by @slicartist

Well, autumn has finally arrived! 🍂 Here are some cozy layouts I designed for a short film a while back that remind me of the season. It's a love story about a hotel maid that immigrates from the Dominican Republic and falls in love with a Pakistani receptionist who moonlights as a cab driver. At first, they don't even speak the same language, but that didn't stop them from forming a romance and, eventually, marriage (this is a true story and they have since learned English 🥰). Deep reds, warm golds, mid century influences, this film was a dream to design!!

Happy birthday to Michael Jackson. 4 years ago I completed a personal short film to a remixed Michael Jackson song set in a vaporwave desert-scape. Here are some of the bts character designs and gesture drawings of his lil fresh crew.
