this is a type of entanglement that does not stem from infidelity,
though it may act as a catalyst.

one that does not involve a "slap heard around the world"
but tearful, sleepless nights of feeling overwhelmed & unheard.

it's a type of love, or lack of,
that resonates throughout life.

did you coddle her too much
or cuddle him too little?

forging a future of a never-ending search for self-worth
through the eyes of a stereotype that is noncommittal?

those who choose this path have their lives changed forever.
those who don't likely understand the weight that comes with such change.

though there are many possibilities in the present state we're in,
that state is in threat.
currently being ripped apart & upended.

but that'll be for a different time & place.

for now, my purpose is to acknowledge and appreciate the women who have chosen & choose to be a mother everyday.

it's one of the biggest decisions & responsibilities women will ever have to face.
