Transparency Post: My blonde hair used to be a HUGE part of my identity, especially when it was long and blonde. (The ones that know, KNOW my blonde girl era)

After doing a hair show that took my light blonde to a platinum blonde, my hair was NEVER the same. It kept breaking off no matter what treatments I used, no matter how many protective styles I got or how many times I got a trim/cut. IT WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED!

I finally got the memo when God said “Girl, if you don’t chop that mess off, go back natural and leave your hair alone!” 🤣🤣 I obeyed…And BAYBAY, when I say I cried like a newborn baby, I BOO HOO’D! 😫😂 I thought my blonde hair was a statement piece that made me feel as if that was the only way I could feel beautiful…I was completely wrong! ❌

2023: I did a big chop down to the ROOT - I cried so hard that you’d think somebody shot my momma, chile! 🤣🤣😂 Little did I know, that would be the start to something so beautiful waiting for me in 2025! I was FLABBERGASTED that my hair grew to my mid-back by the end of 2025! 🤯 I haven’t seen my hair this long since I was a LITTLE GIRL!

And that’s when it clicked…

I was touching, manipulating, coloring & pulling on my hair wayyyyyyyyyyy too much for it to reach HALF of its full potential. 🤦🏽‍♀️ Of course my hair could grow as long as my childhood, I just needed to follow the same rules and routines as I did as a child.

Y’all may think this post is dramatic and probably a little idiotic, but to me this was a huge breakthrough for me. Symbolically, if you all are dealing with something that is damaging to your life, NO MATTER what it is, chop it off and let it go.

I promise, it’ll be worth it. 🙏🏼🩷

Here’s the recipe for longer & fuller hair! 💁🏽‍♀️
Ingredients: (You can also add any other hair oils to your liking! I love Castor oil & Coconut Oil but I ran out! 🤣)
✨Shea Butter
✨Jojoba Oil
✨Grapeseed Oil
✨Flaxseed Oil
✨Vitamin E Oil
✨Rosemary by @asiamnaturally
DIY Hair Butter Instructions:
➡️ Step 1: Scoop Shea Butter into a jar
➡️ Step 2: Place a pot on the stove w/ water and put on low heat - DO NOT BOIL! Place the jar of Shea Butter into the pot & wait till it melts completely. Stir occasionally.
➡️ Step 3: Add your oils (do NOT ask me about measurements - listen to your ancestors 😌)
➡️ Step 4: Give it a good stir
➡️ Step 5: Freeze for 30-45mins (do not let it get rock solid/hard)
➡️ Step 6: Scoop everything out using a spoon or large wooden spoon & get to mixing w/ a whisk (If you have a mixer, use that). Keep mixing until it looks and feels like whipped butter! IT SHOULD MELT IN YOUR HANDS!
➡️ Step 7: Put that thang in a jar and store in the fridge or leave it out. Either is fine!
➡️ Step 8: Enjoy and use daily or every other day! 😉

✍🏼 NOTE: This is hair BUTTER, not a hair MASK! Do not rinse this out. It is meant to use as a moisturizer for your hair.
