ICYMI: we’re getting married over halloween weekend.

🎃 🤍 🎃

when we started planning for this shindig, kyle and i quickly settled on having a small ceremony surrounded by family and close friends, with all the pomp-and-circumstance one might expect for such an occasion.

but when it came to discussion of a reception, and things like cake and catering, or looking for a DJ who might prefer Counting Worms over the Cha Cha Slide? we promptly wrinkled our noses and went “fuck that”.

so, we’ve decided to celebrate our upcoming nuptials in a way that feels a bit more like “us”… featuring a few of our favorite musically inclined friends; because who doesn’t love a side of metal with their matrimony? 🤘🏼

no cover charge. we want your presence, not presents. see you in the pit, gang! 👻 💍 taken in The Foundry Concert Club by @slightlyawsm

i've been quietly working away on something i'm feeling pretty proud of. i'm not quite ready to share that fun little update yet, BUT i've been going through some memory cards that have stacked up the last couple months — many filled with shots from a few of my favorite local bands when i've had the good sense to bring my camera along to their shows — and have been editing the highlights here and there when i've had the chance.

here's a look at a few from @thestaticwake ‘s foundry gig a while back. they've been dropping some bangers lately, and if you have October 17th free you should absolutely get your ass to ‘Halloween Freakshow 2026’ at @foundrycleveland and catch them performing with our homies, @dead_cassette (and more!)

okay? good talk. 😙 taken in The Foundry Concert Club by @slightlyawsm

gotta remind him that i’m gonna get on every last one of his nerves for the rest of our lives while he still has a chance to change his mind. 🤪 by @slightlyawsm

i just really like how “go touch grass” has become this generation’s “take a hike”.

we’ll do both, thank you.

look, i got about 20 pounds to shave before the wedding so i have a complicated relationship with my midsection right now.

BUT. I really love being on stage with my favorite folks, and i can see the “happy” in this particular shot (c/o Roland Street) all over my face. so i’m gonna smother down this body dysphoria and post anyway.

life is baller. 🔥 by @slightlyawsm

hey gang! 👋🏼

i’m still carrying around this camera, still catching folks doing their thing. to be honest? i’ve been pretty occupied juggling the many lemons life has (not so) graciously thrown my way, and trying to make some lemonade… while my friends make music somewhere in between.

at the very least, the soundtrack slaps.

anyway, we’re resuming our regularly scheduled programming, and i’ll have a few fun announcements soon.

for now?

a few days ago, i woke up to this video message, and Kyle standing (in uniform 🤤) next to my bedside with a caramel frappuccino in hand.

the way i went from shock, to laughing, to (happy) crying in the span of this clip.

thanks, @metalpetecomedy. 🫶🏼🤍

life comes with some lousy parts, and the last year has offered up more than a few of them. but at the very least i’ll be wrapping this year up knowing that i am marrying the man who likes me most, makes me laugh the most, believes in me the most, and does the most.

and i’m gonna spend the rest of my life showing him that ‘ish goes both ways. 😘 by @slightlyawsm
