Quite a few years ago, i was having a drink at the Middle East upstairs bar, this guy started talking to me about the music that was playing, i recognized him as the singer from the lyres, was a bit starstruck, i said something probably not very clever in response, he cut me down “i have no idea what you’re talking about”, i was a bit embarrassed, the surly bar tender chuckled and shook her head knowingly, looking back i think i saw a twinkle in his eye. Funny shit. Saw the lyres a bunch over the years and always a good show. Long live #monoman #lyres by @slimoconnor2020
