You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf. After graduating, I’ve felt like life is constantly pivoting for me to the point of wondering where I could end up in the next 5 years. Not only because interviewers keep asking me, but because I truly think there are multiple lives we can live in this life and I can’t always fully control where I will end up. I have prayed so deeply about direction in my life because for once I know it’s out of my control. I have lived with a tight knit narrow perspective where I thought I could control where I end up if I just worked super hard at it, and in some ways I did. Recently I realized that letting go of the reigns and flowing with what happens is the only way for me to have peace. I can’t control where I am 100% of the time; I can only do the best I can navigating the path God has put in front of me.
