One of my favorite things about being an LAPD officer is that no two days are ever the same. One day you’re helping someone through a crisis, and the next you’re riding an ATV through one of our city parks. 🚓
Yesterday was one of those days.
With an uptick in fires throughout Harbor Division, we were out conducting extra patrols in our parks and open spaces — including Ken Malloy Harbor Regional Park, Peck Park, Cabrillo Beach, and White Point Nature Preserve.
Along the way, we met some interesting folks, offered resources to those who needed them, and asked others to clear the area when ongoing fire activity created a safety concern.
At the end of the day, it all comes back to the same thing: keeping our communities safe and being present where our community needs us.
And hey… sometimes that means doing it from an ATV. 😉
Harbor Division, we’re out here with you. If you see us in the parks, stop and say hello. by @slo_nua

This past week Officer Nua, Officer Solorzano and Officer Shah were able to attend and speak to our younger community members at the Los AngelesPark and Recreation youth summer camp in Banning Park.

The officers were able to educate the young ones on how to get help in an emergency and the how to be safe. We have to say these were one of the smartest kids we have seen. Their questions and concerns were as if we were being asked by adults.

The kids were able to see the police car and got stickers. We are always trying the bridge the gap and encourage our community members that we are here for them.
