Where was everyone again?! Oh yeah, that Broad St thing. Had Schuylkill Banks and MLK alnosg all to myself. At least dodging the regatta parents on Kelly kept it interesting. Glad to see that everyone had a great day on Broad. Had to stay on plan, so passed this year. Maybe when I am feeling back to my old self. I will signup again. Where was everybody?! Practically had the CVT to myself this morning, seeing only 7 other runners, 5 walkers, and 2 cyclists. I guess everyone was smart enough to run yesterday when it was beautiful and avoid this blustery/rainy challenge. Sort of a preview of what others will face tomorrow in Hopkinton. Good luck to those I know running Boston tomorrow. Enjoy the day and be proud that you are there. Late posting this and not sure why, except to call myself out and keep me accountable. Ran 6 angry (at myself) miles on Sunday which should been more on a nice Fall day, but could not get started. Finding it consistently hard to get motivated to run alone, and none of the marathons I want to run are available to me, so why am I even putting in the miles? Because I still think that I have some marathons left in me, but maybe that is foolish. Should I consider dumping the remaining races from my bucket? Debatable.

This malaise hit me particularly hard on NYC Marathon weekend. After 5 Achilles guiding experiences there, it is a special race to me. I enjoyed lending my talents at those races and helping others to live their dreams. But since NYRR put a restriction on guides and my local chapter does not want me around, I have few other options to apply my skills. I got chills watching race coverage on Sunday and really want to run NYC one more time.I really miss it and just want to help.

There are certainly those who would disagree that I am done with marathons, and I appreciate that support. But I cannot expect anyone to run me out of my funk, except me. Running is a solitary sport and we all have to solve our own problems. My introverted self does not facilitate fitting in with most groups anyway and my stories of my experiences just feel annoying and pretentious.

So I will just put on my big boy running shorts and run and hope that the fog lifts. I will keep attempting to maintain a base and maybe another opportunity to race or guide will present itself. If not, I just need to shut up and run. by @sloanguin

Beautiful Fall morning to run. Not even being sideswiped by some aggressive cyclists could spoil it. Forgot that Head of the Schuylkill was today, so MLK was open to traffic while Kelly was packed with tons of rowers/spectators. Wish this was a marathon weekend, because I felt stronger than I deserved to. Enjoy this day like a dog sunning in the yard. 😅 taken in Lloyd Hall by @sloanguin
