Have already done 24 cons this year! Here are the remaining ones I have booked for the rest of 2026 (except NYCC which I am waitlisted for, but holding out hope I get in somehow!)

Shoutout to my lovely human wife for making this graphic for me with no artistic or design background. I think it looks 100x better than any AI could hope to generate!

Feeling incredibly blessed after these amazing last few days!

I’ve been trying to strike a balance between talking about my own work and that of others. I am still figuring that out, so bear with me 🙏🏼

This feels like a transitional phase for me, in a good way of course. I am trying to navigate it with grace and humility, and thankfully I have my lovely family and friends to help with that.

120 of you bought copies of Nandi this weekend, which is simply incredible. I usually don’t sell half of that over 3 days actually tabling at a convention. I am filled to the brim with gratitude and joy.

I caught up with Alysia, creator of @cosmyxtimewitch , at New York Comic Con!

Alysia was one of the first folks that I tried the POV series with, and there was a lovely reception (400k views here, and 600k on TikTok!). Thanks to all of you lovely folks, the Cosmyx page jumped from 1800 followers when we first met, to over 11000 now!

I love getting a chance to follow up with these lovely creators and just hearing about what their initial viral moment felt like. I couldn’t be happier for Alysia and am super excited for issue 2. I only shout out folks if I genuinely like their work, and this right here is a certified banger.

Also, seriously though, someone in LA who is seeing this needs to pull up to her next con cosplaying as Cosmyx!

He wrote a book about Jimi Hendrix using the power of music to fight an evil intergalactic empire!

I found this absolute gem of a book in New York Comic Con’s Artist Alley.

The fellow in the video is @djbenhameen who wears many many hats but is primarily a DJ and the host of a really cool podcast called @forallnerds !

If you are wondering (like I was), he did get permission from the Hendrix estate and the book even has a foreword by Janie Hendrix!

The artwork and story (yes I read it already!) is absolutely insane, this is one of my favorite comics I picked up this year.

Had so much fun shadowing @tommystellacomics as we walked through New York Comic Con’s Artist Alley! I only posted the part where we actually finally approached someone, but rest assured, we walked the entire alley (which is simply too long to fit in a 3-minute video).

The awesome artists in this video who were rewarded with Ninja Turtles covers are

@artbyrbarr (at Baltimore Comic Con)

@maxschallerart (at New York Comic Con)

Both of these fellas will be doing their first major cover!

@idwpublishing is a top 5 publisher and they have some incredible titles. TMNT in particular is my all time favorite, so when I heard about new artists getting a crack at some Turtles covers, I was just blown away.

I want to reiterate here that Tommy (editing assistant and talent manager at IDW) was genuinely pretty uncomfortable with the idea of putting this on camera, because this is something he does for the love of the game and not for publicity. I really didn’t want to take away from the beauty of these moments, but I felt it should be recognized as a really cool way of helping new artists break into the proverbial ivory tower that is the comics industry.

This is also to encourage all the artists who table at cons. You really never know who is looking at your stuff and what opportunities might arise!

For me, this was just a really cool experience and I am eternally grateful to Tommy for letting me be a part of it.

If you have a Kickstarter live or in pre-launch, this is an invitation to talk about it in the comments. Write the TITLE IN ALL CAPS!

I will back as many as I can, with a cap of $1000. I’ll be backing indie comics specifically, but folks with novels and board games are also welcome to talk about their stuff (maybe someone else seeing this will be intrigued and want to support you).

If you have a friend who you think should talk about their work here, I would rather you send the post to them and they pitch their work directly so it’s easier for people to click the link in their bio.

Not sure if this will get any traction, but been wanting to try this ever since @oridipe did the reverse shoutout which led to a bit of extra income for me! by @slowcomics

Thank you to the lovely couple at @katertotphotography for going on this side quest with me! They cosplay at many conventions and take lovely photos, so give them a follow to see what else they have in store!

4. Showcase awesome cosplayers and have some fun with them!!!!

I have been following @second.at.best ‘s journey as an indie creator for a long time, and he is one of my biggest inspirations.

When I got into C2E2 in March, as my wife and I were driving out there, I told her I specifically was excited about the opportunity to meet him. I left him a comment on one of his posts and said I’d be trying to find him, only to then realize during the con that he was set up directly across from me!

He had a newborn baby at the time and he’s been on his grind since then with these two amazing books: Those That Inherit the Earth, and Transformers: Lost Planet (which he wasn’t allowed to talk about until today so I didn’t even know what it was going to be).

I’d been wanting to do a feature on Matt for months now but with all of that in mind and a release set for NYCC, I figured I could wait until this weekend. I’m glad I did, because how awesome is a Transformers project! He got to design his own Bumblebee and is working with an awesome writer in @tatebrombal to bring some new heat!

Matt is also just an incredible writer in his own right on top of his lovely art, and The Council of Frogs is one of my favorite books of all time, indie or otherwise.

I believe in giving your heroes their flowers while they’re here, and Matt is an absolute killer in the game that deserves all the love. by @slowcomics
