Finally a moment to slow down for some creative projects…
The beautiful thing about stepping away from creativity, whether intentional or not, is that it always calls me home. With so many incredible things happening within the creative communities right now, I can’t help but feel inspired …

One month without refined sugar, breads, & rice…
(all my lovelies)
& the part that was hard? Not the removal of the sugar, but the repetition of the same safe foods, & making sure to eat more….
For now I’m celebrating with blood sugar friendly Birthday Cake energy bites from the @thepeachiespoon book, “Blood Sugar Balace”! (My husband says they taste like old school Coco Puffs and I totally agree.)
Oh! Back to one month…
it’s crazy the changes.
My skin looks better, I have more energy, sugar cravings are nonexistent, & I found my waist again because I’m not inflamed…😳
💛 Do celebrate the little things, especially when you have to find new things…

The best gift I have ever given my midlife self is making the decision to work with a Functional/Integrative Provider…
You see, I went in for annual checkups like clock work, & every year I was told everything looks great. While I’m grateful beyond words, I still felt exhausted, achey, inflamed, and foggy no matter how well I ate, how much I exercised or how many supplements I took.(even losing 20lbs this year)
Doing the work with a functional provider throughout the summer is slowly starting to give me myself back…
I now know that refined sugar no longer serves my body, Im taking supplements that target real deficiencies, the brain fog is lifting, & the aches aren’t so achey…
I whole heartedly believe the body wants to heal, and for the first time in my life I finally feel as though I have the tools that it needs…
Midlife is a challenge, & advocating for myself has been the best gift I could ever give my future self.♥️
I hope you do too, I’m so glad I took the leap.✨✨

If you’ve ever stood outside with coffee and flip flops first thing in the morning, turning over leaves, & wandering from plant to plant “just to check”…🍅

Food Art Project - Day 10 My Story
As long as I can remember I have always loved photos.
I mean, I took photos of everything back when that meant dropping my film off, then anxiously waiting 3-4 days hoping and praying I captured a “good one”.
I think my present day story is similar to many…
After culinary school I realized that there was something bigger and so much more soulful than my iphone photos…
“food photography”.
I enrolled in Foodtography School and began the work.
It’s been a long journey, for every pic you see, there was, and still is, failures. I even walked away for a while, but I always come back…
because when that idea that’s been noodling in my brain, that image I imagined comes to life behind my camera…
theres nothing like it….

Food Art Project Day Four - A Story of Memory
My love for baking started right here with the sugar cookie…
as child it was the first cookie I ever made entirely on my own.
Looking back I’m amazed that after all these years they still hold such a magical place in my heart. 🩵
But the best part? Sharing that love with my children …😊

I love an easy summer craft project…☀️
Upcycled with my husbands & thrift store denim, a 12” wire wreath, ribbon, ruler, and a rotary cutter/scissors.
I cut 1” strips(about 2 pair of jeans worth), tied to the wire wreath in sections and trimmed when all the sections were tied.
The hardest part will be deciding what you’re going to add to your wreath….bows? flowers? ribbons?
Get crazy creative or keep it simple like I did here.
& the best part is that everyone can get in on tying the strips to save your hands!
Would you try this?
