🍎🥨 OT Snacks & Skills was a hit!

Yesterday, our Occupational Therapy students welcomed Jill Polovich, M.S., OTR/L from Wonder Works Pediatric Therapy to campus for an interactive session focused on pediatric occupational therapy. Students explored the impact of environmental adaptation, sensory processing, and reflex integration on pediatric practice while learning from real-world clinical experiences.

We love creating opportunities for students to connect with practicing clinicians and see how concepts learned in the classroom come to life in patient care. Thank you to Wonder Works Pediatric Therapy for partnering with us and helping shape the future of occupational therapy!

Lisa Meyer, MBA, PT, Director of Clinical Affiliations for the Doisy College of Health Sciences, recently presented at the NARA Conference in Phoenix, AZ, alongside Erik Painter, MHA, COTA of Innova Health.

Their presentation, "Academic Partnerships as a Strategy for Workforce Stability in Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy," focused on innovative approaches to building and sustaining the rehabilitation workforce through strong academic-clinical partnerships.

Our athletic training students are putting theory into practice in the Pain Science and Tissue Healing course, working with therapeutic modalities like ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and cryotherapy. Understanding why and when to use each tool as part of a comprehensive approach to pain management and tissue repair is just as important as knowing how, and this lab gives students the chance to build all three skills.
