Slúchadlo originated as an idea for a sound object that would interact with the surroundings of LOM and its visitors. @jonas.gruska had already explored this theme in one of his previous works and decided to transform it into a miniature exhibition space. He approached @ondreickovaolivia to curate a selection of artists whose works will be presented through Slúchadlo. Slúchadlo will be located directly in front of the LOM space in Bratislava’s Petržalka district, with a new sound work presented every month.

Slúchadlo is a newly created micro-gallery that will be accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Every month, it will present specially designed sound installations that serve as a dialogue with its surroundings and encourage the audience to listen attentively. Come to the opening of the 10th @sluchadlo. !!PLAYLIST!!!, a sound collage, consists of unreleased tracks, songs, archived rehearsal recordings and musical ideas. It grants listeners access to Richard Grimm’s ( @boh_vajec2 ) and Krištof Krupa’s dusty drawers, where sounds and fragments come together that may never take on their final form. Here we also find a brass band track on a minidisc, recorded by Rišo’s father. The samples are arranged at random and vary in length, genre and quality. The audience never knows what to expect, and so can repeatedly discover new connections between the sounds. The installation also features a simple game: only a tracklist is provided, with no further information, allowing the audience to guess what they are listening to. How many different worlds can fit into a single playlist?

Richard Grimm is a composer of classical, experimental and film music; he also specialises in improvisation and sound design. He is involved in several musical projects, including the Boh Vajec Orchestra and Božské Soaré. Krištof Krupa is a musician and sound artist. He operates on the fringes of non-academic music-making and experimental work with sound. He has played in the bands God and Eve and Haďáci and also creates sound installations. He presented one of his installations at the SONDA festival in Brno. The artists are united by friendship, a shared musical history and a sensitivity to sound as a medium. Their paths have repeatedly crossed in bands that have (not) broken up, and the question of whether their collaboration is a matter of chance or fate remains open. taken in LOM SPACE by @sluchadlo

We are inviting you for the first opening of the 2nd season of Slúchadlo! -18 °C a sound composition by @evasajanova draws inspiration from the everyday sounds of a freezer, a common appliance found in nearly every household. Through Slúchadlo, the author transforms this sound into an imaginary portal into a Petržalka apartment building. Via a single shared appliance, she connects different households and brings to our attention the everyday life that unfolds behind the walls of individual apartments. Recordings of doors opening and closing, drawers getting stuck, and the handling of frozen food, plastic, or ice compose the rhythm of the lives unfolding here. The freezer becomes a space for accumulating, setting aside, and storing. A tool that allows us to save, yet at the same time constantly put things off until later. The composition thus asks: How many lives can fit into a single freezer?

Eva Sajanová works in film, music, and sound. After studying composition at the Bratislava Conservatory, she earned a master’s degree in documentary film directing from the Film and Television Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts (VŠMU). For her short film How to Listen to Fountains (2025), she won the grand prize at the Nest competition in San Sebastián and the Slnko v sieti award. As a composer, she has created music for the documentary film The President, as well as for several short films and movement performances. She occasionally performs with her solo project holé baby. She is the curator of POFO.sk, a sound map of Bratislava’s fountains.

Slúchadlo je mikro-galéria, ktorá je prístupná 24 hodin denne. Pricestuje na festival Realshit 2026 zo svojej permanentnej pozície v bratislavskej Petržalke. Tentokrát si v ňom budete môcť vypočuť doposiaľ nezverejnenú pieseň od amerického hudobníka Evanora:Unlimited, vybranú špeciálne pre túto príležitosť.

SLÚCHADLO

je mikro-galéria, ktorá je prístupná 24 hodín denne. Predstavuje na mieru vytvorené zvukové inštalácie, ktoré fungujú ako forma komunikácie s okolím a vyzývajú poslucháčstvo k pozornému načúvaniu.

DOMOVFÓN

je zvukové dielo založené na rozhovoroch so seniormi a seniorkami z Petržalky. Autor sa s nimi rozpráva o ich spomienkach, každodennom živote a o tom, ako sa Petržalka zmenila po výstavbe sídliska. Rozhovory zachytávajú autentické hlasy a osobné príbehy ľudí žijúcich na tomto sídlisku.

Autor diela Jürgen Rendl ( @suburbandrifter ) pracuje ako rozhlasový redaktor a kultúrny pracovník z Rakúska, ktorý žije v Bratislave. Spolupracuje na kultúrnych a umeleckých projektoch na Slovensku aj v zahraničí. Vo svojej tvorbe sa často venuje témam každodenného života, migrácie a príbehom ľudí žijúcich na okraji miest.

We are warmly inviting you to the last opening of the season!
Blooming in Exile is a collaborative sound work by Kvet Nguyễn and Nawras Rashed. The piece is composed of recordings of movement, breath, and reading, which it weaves together through an experimental approach to sound and poetry. Through the layering of voices, reversed recordings and naturally captured sounds of writing, it explores the boundaries of communication—the space in which the voice is audible, yet its meaning can never be fully grasped.
The composition creates an atmosphere of uncertainty and open interpretation, where meaning remains fluid and constantly shifting. The encounter between the two voices reveals texts drawn from two languages and cultures, giving rise to both tension and harmony. The work resonates with themes of sorrow, longing, separation, exile, and hope, while contrasting personalities and distinct vocal expressions create a dialogue between difference and connection.

Kvet Nguyễn’s multidisciplinary practice examines otherness, dual cultural identity, and belonging within post-socialist Central and Eastern Europe through reflections on memory, migration, exile, and longing. Nawras Rashed’s work investigates memory, identity, and the experience of living as a minority in diaspora, exploring how power structures influence which stories are remembered and which are silenced.

Join us for our seventh opening of our collective 432 hz frequency by Ondrej Mankovecký. The work draws on the 432 Hz frequency, which many believe has harmonizing and healing effects on the human body and mind. The paradox of the title, however, is that instead of a soothing and healing frequency, the work uses sound recordings collected from the internet that create a chaotic and overstimulated environment. The work refers to the endless stream of reels or other short videos that flood the digital space. Through an audio collage, the artist critiques the contemporary way of relaxing, which is based on constant stimulation and an overload of attention. The absurdity of today’s relaxation lies in the fact that instead of regenerating, the brain remains constantly active, exposed to a rapid succession of stimuli that prevent true rest.

Ondrej Mankovecký is a student at the Center for Audiovisual Studies (CAS) at the Film and Television Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. His current work focuses on the digital space and its influence on today’s generation. Under his music project on_drwej, he released his debut EP, destained, in May. He also works in lighting design and integrates audiovisual media into his own performance formats. Join us for the exhibition opening this Saturday on the 30 of May at 19:00. To honor LOM’s 15th anniversary, a report has been produced that maps memories of its fifteen-year-long existence. The focus is on the people and their personal perceptions of this cultural space and its activities. Reporter @hronskyy engages in both spontaneous and planned conversations with people connected to LOM. Instead of a traditional interview, he creates an open environment where respondents have the freedom to reminisce. This is not a chronological overview, but a mosaic of personal experiences that together form a collective memory. The resulting whole comes across as a fluid stream of memories and associations. The piece will be running during celebration of 15 years of LOM this Saturday on the 2 May 2026 from 17:00 till 22:00. See you there!
