The Second Annual Red Fern Reaper Film Festival is a two day event in Tahlequah, OK showcasing over two dozen independent, low budget to no budget horror films! The first portion will take place on Friday October 16th with "Zero-Hour" being held at the Tahlequah Public Library located at 120 S. College Ave. In Tahlequah, OK!! "VIDEO MANIACS" will be kicking things off at 11am!!

That evening of the 16th will be The Underground Horror Hall of Fame Filmmakers Banquet at Ned's in Downtown Tahlequah. We will be honoring this year's inaugural inductees including the film that we'll be showcasing: "PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE"!! This event will include a potluck dinner and is open to everyone 21+!! You're welcome to bring a dish but please no outside drinks!! The movie is set to begin at 8pm!!

Saturday October 17th will be the big one with the festival kicking off shortly after 9am with "C4ROUSHELL"!! We will be having a raffle giveaway, costume contest, a hot dinner included with admission, arts and crafts, vendors, filmmakers, artists, and a live performance from OKLAHOMA BLOOD!!! Admission will be $5 at the door of the Cherokee County Community Building in Tahlequah, OK (right next to the Election Board and Restore Resale Shop)!!! The last film, "MEAT" will play sometime around 9-9:30pm!!

Here comes the first batch of shorts that will be playing on Saturday, October 17th at the Cherokee County Community Building!! These shorts will be split up into two blocks. The first will start right around noon time, and the second will precede the Hall of Fame portion & tribute package of the event!! Times will be announced soon!!

•SWORD OF THE NIGHTINGALE (Directed by Anthony Leroy)
This short is another link in the saga of the legendary Canuck madman known as Tad Nightingale!! This one goes a bit medieval and takes you to the roots of this crazed lunatic we've come to love!!
After showcasing both "Worm Burner" and "BUM" at the inaugural event, is was truly a no-brainer to show this one from @elytracollective as well!!

•TRASH REMOVAL (Directed by Madeline Deering)
Special thank you to The Gross Brothers for making this happen! We have the honor to show Maddie's obscure and hilarious short film, "Trash Removal"!! This is kind of hard to find these days, but we wanted to have something of hers to honor her legacy and include her in another film festival. We will also be inducting Maddie into the Underground Horror Hall of Fame, where she will be represented by her parents, Tom and Nancy Deering, who will be here in person!! We are also showing, "Ssssstoner Snake", in which she has my personal favorite scene

•HIGHER KNOWLEDGE (Directed by Eli Bigler)
This was the legit last film to be submitted to the fest, and I'm so glad that I made room for it!! This is a fun and crazy short film that legitimately takes you on a ride!! It's campy and just downright awesome, I cant wait for people to get to see this one!!

•THE CRIMSON CARVER (Directed by Tawan Benedict)
This movie fucking rules, for real!! And to be made by such a young group of filmmaker with no budget, is all the more impressive!! To be doing half of what these guys do at their age is definitely the route I wish I would've taken. There is so much heart and passion that comes across this one, it's such a joy to experience as a viewer!! Tawan is also the main man behind the upcoming Sludge Archive, and I truly believe his influence and presence in the underground, is truly just getting started!! taken in Tahlequah, Oklahoma by @sludgesupply

I know it's been a sec since I’ve posted any updates on the site since I removed it. For those who don’t know, I removed the site after less than a day of being up. To keep it brief, I decided to no longer host random films I find in archives (even if they’re not streaming/selling anywhere). While I’m keeping the Archive name, the site will be closer to a streaming service where people can have their films officially hosted instead of being a place where I upload whatever obscure/disturbing media I can find (unless it's officially public domain). Because of that, I removed a bunch of films, which sucks, but honestly I was in the wrong for hosting them in the first place without permission, so I think this is the right decision. Anyway, I apologize for that and I don’t want to keep this description too long, but l go into more detail on my YouTube channel. (https://youtu.be/XA9lHPYb1Pg?is=Cy-uHRixbGhK9vfi) While I stand by what I said in the vid, I hate how it turned out, so I’ll probably make it link access only. Maybe I’ll even remaster it in the future. Anyways, I’m much shorter on films now, so I’d really appreciate it if any horror filmmakers out there would be willing to reach out if they're interested. Sorry for all the delays. I know I say this too much, but life got busy and I did the best I could with the schedule I have. The website is far from done, and there's plenty of updates and collabs to come in the near future. At least now it's out, so I can improve on what's already there.

Unfortunately, since I'm still in the free trail, it has that stupid bar on top that says: Built on Wix Harmony. It's kind of lame, but I'll eventually need to upgrade once I run out of storage, so when that happens, I'll be able to get my own domain and get rid of that bar on top.

Also, I will be adding more sections in the future including a supernatural horror section (coming soon). Plus I'm going to reorganize the films a bit since there are a few Splatter films in the Slasher section. I wasn't initially going to separate them, but I decided it would make more sense. That's why there's a little bit of a mix-up by @sludgesupply

Sludge Archive debuts this weekend.

I'm finally almost "done" with this project. It'll never be truly finished: I plan to keep it constantly updated with new films, sections, and upgrades, but it's almost publishable.

The layouts, the coding, all that is finally done. I never had any programming or web design experience prior to this, so there were quite a few tricky workarounds.

But all that stuff I'm done now. I just have to set up all the links and finish uploading the rest of the films (along with a few other small things). I'll make another post with a link to the site once it's officially out.

But yeah, thanks to everyone who submitted films and supported this project. Just because it's published doesn't mean it's done: I have a lot more planned for this website. Plus, I have a lot of really sick collabs that I will announce in the future. by @sludgesupply

Proud to announce that the upcoming Sludge Archive (coming next month) will be featuring films from Liquid Pictures.

For those who don't know, Liquid Pictures is an independent film production ran by a group of young filmmakers who specialize in horror movies. All of their films are currently available on their YouTube channel https://youtube.com/@liquidpicturestheofficial?si=EH9m-hEVihCFowJQ

They have a fairly extensive catalog of movies and short films. Out of their selection of films, Sludge Archive will proudly be featuring The Owner 3, One Drop 2, The Twisted 2, and the Twisted 3.

You can watch all of these films and more on their official YouTube channel. They've also been teasing a new production on their channel, so make sure to stay tuned for their upcoming works. by @sludgesupply

Stricknyne films is an independent film company based in Tahlequah Oklahoma. They primarily focus on making shot-on-video horror films, and are best known for their film "Blood Red River Bed". They are constantly making new films and outside of making movies, they're always active in the low-no budget filmmaking community. From hosting independent screenings, to running their own local festable, the "Red Fern Reaper Fest", they're constantly supporting other small creators.

Because of this, I was really stoked when they offered their whole catalog to be hosted on the upcoming Sludge Archive website (I plan on publicly releasing it in two weeks). I've been a fan of theirs for awhile now, so having his opportunity is a great pleasure. Thanks again, Stricknyne Films. by @sludgesupply

Throwing out an update for the archive project. I finally have the layout more or less done. Idk much about web design so I went through a lot of trial and error to get something I thought would be presentable. But the layout of all the pages are finally more or less done (still plan to make some tweaks). From there, I'll be working on making everything functional then I can finally start making the films viewable. I'm aiming to publish this sometime in July. Also heads up, this post is showing the site though desktop view. The website does look different on a cell phone. But once this does get released, I highly recommend browsing on a desktop instead of a phone. It looks much better on there by @sludgesupply

Been on a creative hiatus lately. Not really by choice, but mostly bc there's been a lot going on for the last while, and the Archive hasn't really been the priority rn. No big deal though. I only have a few weeks before I'm done with hs and I'll have more time to work on fun projects like this. I'm still expecting like an early July publication of the site. They'll be all kinds of cool/obscure films preserved there, and hopefully it'll be helpful for anyone who can't get their films on steaming but are worried about demonization in YT by @sludgesupply
