🚨 NEW EPISODE OUT NOW! 🚨

The dance industry is changing, and in this episode of OffBalance, we’re having the conversation many people are afraid to have.

Are we raising more dance hustlers than purpose-driven dancers? 🤔

What happened to genuine collaboration in the industry? Is it still possible, or has competition completely taken over? And could the younger generation be the ones to bring back a culture of unity and collective growth?

🗣️ @slyobinna @sir_wizzzy

No filters. No sugarcoating. Just real industry talk.

REUNITED WITH MY DANCE FATHER!! @slyobinna 🤗🫠

Quick back story;
It was 2018 and I was still a student of this man.. he had seen my growth in creating choreography but he wanted to test himself to see if he could execute a routine by Me 🙈 (he’s an ever learning teacher) and he gave me a slow song knowing that I loved dancing to fast music..
it was such a hard task to slow myself down, but I did my best regardless and created a stellar choreo I must say!!
I successfully taught him the routine only for him to not record it ever or even say anything about it 😭..
I was so pained and angry that I promised not to teach him any choreo of mine anymore..
This video is His apology..🤩😌😌

Okay too much long talk!! #talkativeMe
ENJOY THE VIDEO..

Last Saturday at Afrocan Studio, renowned dance educator Obinna Sly led an engaging session on the fundamentals of Konto/Galala, one of Lagos’ most influential street dance styles.

Dancers explored the grooves, footwork, history, and cultural significance of the movement, reinforcing the importance of preserving indigenous African dance traditions.

The class continues this Saturday from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Afrocan Studio. All dancers are welcome to come learn, connect, and deepen their understanding of African street dance culture.
