Today marks one year since we’ve been apart.

I miss you every day. Not in a quiet way. In a constant, aching way. You weren’t just a dog to me. You were my best friend, my shadow, my partner in work and life. You were my comfort, my grounding, my safe place. You were my child and my therapist all in one.

When you left, I didn’t just lose you. I lost a piece of myself. There are parts of me that left with you and never fully came back. You were my soul dog.

You understood me without words. You saw me in the moments no one else noticed. You sat with me in silence, in routine, in emotional shifts, and you never needed me to explain myself. No judgment. No expectations. Just presence.

That kind of bond goes deeper than love or loyalty. It’s being in sync on a level that humans rarely reach. With you, I never wondered if I was enough. You loved me exactly as I was, flaws and all, and in that love I belonged.

This has been a heartbreaking week for humanity. Two beautiful lives (Charlie Kirk and Iryna Zarutska) lost to senseless tragedy.

My prayers and deepest sympathy go out to the families. We cannot ignore the urgent need for open conversations and real action around mental health in this country. by @slzigler0421
