I came across the word “dyslexia” when I read a middle grade novel of a boy who has a hard time with school due to this condition. I also have noticed that there is less education around dyslexia in fiction. But because it’s an invisible learning disability, most people go undiagnosed. For this reason, I decided to write about a character who has a moderate case of dyslexia…hence my MMC Ali was born 📸
I personally don’t suffer from it, but I know of close friends who are diagnosed with it. Just because you don’t see it, doesn’t mean they don’t have it.
To all suffering from learning disabilities, mental health disorders and chronic illnesses 🦋 I see you 🥹.

Ep 9: Botan 🗯️
Everyone sees him as the volatile bully, but they don’t know the backstory until they find out (good luck getting that info out of his mouth).
*DISCLAIMER: I am not a professional mental health expert, so I avoided labeling any of my characters with any mental health disorder, because most of them are undiagnosed but carry the traits 🫰🏼If you’re suffering from any mental health disorder, please seek help. There’s no shame in seeking treatment or advice 💕
