Is the Gender Bill a Good Law? (no)
Despite our enduring commitment to provide an alternative to our tribalistic and broadbase discourse — some issues draw us in, with their sheer moral gravity.

No chants of shame capture the moral repugnancy of this legislation. The smell of rotten eggs wafts about.

The Almey Alternative is with the 90% of New Zealanders who just want people to live happy lives.

Episode 3 — esteemed unc Joshua Stewart talks student culture, and its evolution.

Last week the Almey Alternative hosted the youngest student alive. So naturally we had to get the oldest.

Join us tomorrow around the proverbial campfire, as we listen to a respected elder and their wizen thoughts.

Josh Stewart has been everything, done everything, and has a wealth of knowledge which he generously imparts this episode.

We'll be talking student culture.
We'll be having a realistic review of Fees Free.
And we'll even have advice for future execs, as we reflect on the ructions in the Otago student union last year.

Teamwork makes the dream work — working with Bella and Jono, two excellent reviewers, has made this one of my favorite articles to write.

The Capping Show was pretty good this year, but you'll just have to read on to find out what we think.

But that's just a favorite article I've written — go read this week's magazine in full. It's the best issue of Critic this year. Everyone just locked in.

That's a wrap on Critic sem 1! It's a special thing to be a staff writer for the best student mag in the country. Already some good highlights, from two culture pieces to an unexpected mental health trilogy.
