What qualifications do you have to justify your followers to believe in your opinions?

I was a sports writer for 3 years. A consultant for a few international leagues. A recruiter for the University of Stirling for 2 years. With also being a regional scout at one point.
_
Why did you start SSPS? What is the goal of the page?

I started SSPS 4/28/2019 after I saw much dislikement of the Houston Texans selection of Alabama State's Tytus Howard at #23 overall. When I had him as a high second round grade and thought it was a justified selection and just a slight reach. However not by much, afterwards I saw that nobody really touched on any FCS or below players on these Instagram scouting accounts and I just went. I guess I will be the one who does it.

The goal of SSPS is to not only help shine a light to the FCS though NAIA players who can get lost in the shuffle due to the FBS players from the national media attention. It's to always tell the stories and legacies of the previous small school players and coaches who impacted the divisions, and AFL & NFL history making these scouts, GM and owners go yes we have to scout these people they could be the next (insert legendary small school player here). This page is for the past, present and future of football and I'm always so happy to tell it to whomever is willing to listen to me.

Over these last 7 years I went through a lot. From going to classes at community college, moving 3 different times, getting multiple jobs as a sports writer, football recruiter and professional scout. It's all because of how wonderful this account was. It truly was a blessing and I wish I could thank you all individually. I have always loved small schools as I grew up with Illinois State and Illinois Wesleyan in my backyard. This was a passion project and I'm so pleased with how it turned out. At one point we hit 5k followers before I fell off. However we accomplished something much more important than just followers. In the 7 years here at SSPS we hit 4.2 million reach which is an absurd amount of people and accounts that saw the work I did for these incredible people. Lots of NFL players have come through and liked, commented or shared a post from SSPS and I will always be grateful for that. We built one of the best communities on Instagram and had fun along the way! I sound like a broken record but I truly appreciate and enjoy all of you here no matter if you were here in April of 2019 or just here today. You all made SSPS and I just played the role in delivering you the pathway to the fun of small school players and coaches. Just remember this, always respect your small schools. You never know where the next great can come from! With all that being said I'm officially retiring this page. The last of the great FCS group chat formed in 2019. Thank you all and have a blessed rest of your week by @small_school_prospect_scouting

Welcome to the 7th SSPS small school draft board where I go through the FCS, Division II, Division III, NAIA, Juco and USports players for this year's NFL draft! This year we have a very talented class that wasn't completely ruined by the transfer portal for a change. We have so many talented players from each division and it was a blast to watch everyone from coast to coast and up and down and all around the country.
___
I was asked to put a little more effort in this draft board graphic. So I hope you enjoy it. Tell me what you think down below. I do apologize for some logos not being transparent for it but I can only do so much when editing on my phone only.
_
Congratulations to everyone who made it on my board as well as those who didn't get ft. I wish you the very best to have the great opportunity to continue your playing career no matter in the NFL, CFL or any other professional football league!

Jadyn Walker, LB
6’2, 230 lbs
Senior, Fort Valley State University
___
Pro Comparison:
Josh Metellus

Grades
Side-line speed-A
Tackling-A-
Play awareness-B+
Man coverage-B+
Zone coverage-B
Shedding blocks-B-
Shooting gaps-C+
Hip flexibly-A
Pursuit angles-A
It factor-A
Potential-B+
_
+ The thing I appreciate most is his attention to detail when it comes to tackling and trying to lean more with his shoulder and striking his target area without getting flagged for it.
+ Is elite at the ability to be a QB spy and flow so smoothly from side-line to side-line and closing speed to make the tackle from any of the 3 LB positions
+ Very high football IQ. Can sense when it's a fake post by a TE and diagnose that it's a dump out screen or a flat to the RB and pursues so quickly to the back and either stops the cutback lane and helps with the rally tackle or gets the tackle himself
+ Contains a DBs mentality and recognition that even if you are trailing by maybe a ½ step to just put your hands up and get a PBU and there were a few times just barely is trailing and he got his hand up knocks it down and saves a potential first down or TD
__
- One thing I wished I saw more of is the overwhelming strength and power to go through and dominate the division II level against good but not great players knocking them back with more when coming down hill vs OTs or TEs when they were blocking him. Similar to how Shaquille Leonard when you watched him at South Carolina State and studying his play and he would launch avg players out of the way when going downhill to showcase his separation against his level opponents in the FCS.
- Has a tendency to be over aggressive and commit to collapsing down the incorrect gap and then has to work back through traffic to the ball carrier which would have been in his original responsibility if he stayed put
- Against mobile QBs he will get caught in no man's land of should I run when he breaks contain or get deeper in the zone

Route running-N/A
It factor-C
Potential-B-
___
+ He uses his big body to drive and power through players similar in size like a Jamel Lewis or Jerome Bettis who was around that 230-245 threshold while being able to maintain his balance and gain another 5-7 yards after lowering his shoulder
+ Has good vision with the combination of patience to stop and then accelerate through the gap
+ Very reliable in the RedZone for quick powers and getting closer to the end zone as well as scoring
__
- His athletic ability is good but not great when it comes to break away speed. Got to see him vs some of the best in the division II level Valdosta State, West Florida, West Alabama and Benedict College. There wasn't an overly big difference between the speed of him at full stride vs his opponents. Was caught from behind a few times the last few years
- Concern for the ability to be a RB1 or RB2 in the league from the lack of trust in overall carries with only a few times getting 10 or more in a game. Is set to be in a more FB role in my opinion without the more bulk of carries
- not enough tape on his receiving ability for a true evaluation in that regard at any of the 3 stops he had in college.

Potential-B+
__
+ Has great vision and control of his explosion with his footwork when cutting back and getting a big gain. Drives well when going horizontal and gets the edge due to his great acceleration
+ Very versatile when it comes to being a receiver and a return man with understanding the zones to sit in and get the first down and get down. In the return game does a fine job of following his blockers and getting big gains
+ RedZone carries are very polished and finds the right lane bursting and scoring at all the college levels he played at.
___
- The biggest thing to me is the lack of overall power and ability to maintain balance after contact. He has big play potential and that is it for the most part when it comes to downhill vs a LB or DB he is more so the nail then the hammer. Doesn't maintain his balance when arm tackled or hit on the thigh or leg by diving defenders
- It's almost 50/50 on his catches being more so within the body to get them while being wide open then catching with his hands and turning up field
- Would have liked to see a bit more in challenging defenders head on and running through them than running towards the sidelines

__
+ Has a good ability to split the IOL and get pressure and TFLs. Against his lone FBS opponent he got a safety in the 4th quarter vs Ball State on a good move to get penetration
+ Gives full effort and tries to maintain and fill the gap for his LBs to be able to shoot downhill and make the tackle
+ Does very well on stunts and getting penetration and forcing the ball carrier to stutter and make a split decision
+ A decent bull rush
+ Has a good knack for arm tackling RBs in one of the better FCS conference in the CAA
__
- He is a good but not great athlete and it shows with his avg get off speed off the line. He will at times even be a ½ yard further back on the line and then try to accelerate full speed and still not be as fast as other CAA IDL. At Washburn it wasn't a noticeable difference but at UNH it was
- Would bite on play action and not be able to reestablish himself in the play just due to being off balanced to be impactful

Special Teams-A+
It factor-A
Potential-A
_
+ The best part of his game is the high YAC and ability to just out race everyone in the open field and hit the end zone without anyone near him.
+ A very impressive route tree with being a TE in the Canadian football scheme
+ Very reliable hands, he catches with the fingertips and not with his body. Doesn't drop passes often in his multi year career
+ Has a lot of experience with playing on special teams. Gives full effort and is relentless on trying to seal his block for a lane for his returner to get a maximum gain each time
___
- He is a willing blocker but he lacks overall power and strength to dominate the defender and pancake them. As well as move and angle them away to create the opening for the QB or RB to follow through the gap.
- For the amount he gets open in space for the big YAC opportunities he can be much sharper when it comes to his route running and break easier to the inside on the deep post. Same with breaking on the outside for the hook or flat routes
- Isn't the fastest in straight line speed but hits his max speed quickly and maintains it
