6 ways I save money every month.

I've been on a mission lately to save money. So I thought I would share some of my recent finds and things I have been using.

Please do share some of yours in the comments to help others.

60% off fruit and veg on Mondays from your local supermarket if you order through @justeatuk

Use the @firsttableuk app to save 50% off your meal at lots of local restaurants. Choose the restaurant to visit, book your table and you will get 50% off your meal.

Have you used @toogoodtogo.uk app yet? Supermarkets and restaurants who have a surplus of food sell off the surplus at a reduced amount. It's always a surprise bag filled with lots of goodies.

Need some beauty items and some christmas gifts? Every Tuesday @bootsuk do a special £10 offer with over 200 items discounted.

2-4-1 tickets on Tuesdays and Wednesdays via the Meerkat app. You don't even need to be a customer any more.

Have you heard of @showfilmfirst ? Join (for free) and find out about gigs, theatre shows and lots more where you can get access, just paying the admin fee. But sshhh, you can't tell anyone. It is a secret.

AD| One for your Birmingham food list.

If you're trying to find somewhere in Birmingham where everyone can choose something different to eat, @society.brum is worth knowing about. We thought the food was delicious.

There are five independent food kitchens under one roof, alongside a bar serving craft beer, cocktails and more. So whether you're meeting friends for lunch, grabbing something to eat in the city centre with the family or planning after-work drinks, there's plenty to explore.

There's even some events happening including some free art with @tat_vision.

Also love the Art Vend machine which included @ichoosebirmingham merchandise!

📍 Society, One Colmore Square, Birmingham.

Which kitchen would you head to first? Tell us in the comments!

Ad| Tonight I had a look at brand new @kibou_restaurants opening up Colmore Row (by Pigeon Park to us Brummies) on Monday.

It is absolutely beautiful inside. Both upstairs and downstairs in the basement. It's gorgeous throughout with such attention to detail. I tried some of the food tonight and it was delicious. For anyone who hasn't tried Kibou in Solihull, it's a Japanese restaurant serving up a variety of Japanese food. Think sushi, bao buns, katsu curry and ramen to name a few.

I am really excited about this new opening. Will you be visiting? taken in Colmore Row by @smallhousebigtrips

Ad| We had a couple of lovely hours at @oakleysfarmstaffordshire this afternoon.

If you’re in Staffordshire and looking for somewhere to take little ones who love petting animals, I’d definitely add this cute Halloween trip out to your list.

The Pumpkin Petting Farm is open Friday to Sunday until 1st November, 10am - 3pm. There are cute autumn display photo opportunities and, of course, some cute animals to get up close with.

Matilda absolutely loved the baby goats (had to check she didn't try to take one home with us) and Jemima was very happy spending time with the Highland cows - her favourite animal.

Entry is £6.50 per person, with under 2s going free. And you can get animal feed for £2.

They sell pumpkins for you to carve in the pumpkin shed.

There’s also a Farm Shop selling bread, meat, eggs, cheese and jam, plus some cute gifts and Buffalo & Co Kitchen if you fancy grabbing something to eat while you’re there. The smash burgers were very good as was my pumpkin spiced milkshake which may be my favourite drink I've had in 2026! It was so good.

We really enjoyed our little visit and it was the perfect length for a couple of hours out this afternoon.

You can tell it is a family run business as they've really thought about children in every aspect of this cute farm.

AD| There's a new Room on the Broom corn maze at @twycrosszoo and we popped to have a look at it today.

It's perfect for those of you who have little ones as it is aimed at toddlers and pre-school aged children - but your slightly older kids may enjoy too. My two enjoyed a wander through it. Especially the smoke bit and the collecting sweets as they went around.

It is £5 extra (per child - adults go FREE). And children receive a tote bag to keep, with a little trail leaflet and a few sweets to start off the experience. They then collect 3 stamps for their trail sheet and a few sweets (2 sweet stops) as they go around.
There's also a few photo apps - with one taken by a professional photographer that you can purchase if you would like.

You can even go and meet the witch for a photograph too! We couldn't resist.

It's a cute addition and if you've already got a free return ticket to use at the zoo, its a nice little extra to do for all the Room on the Broom - Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler fans. taken in Twycross Zoo by @smallhousebigtrips

This looks and sounds absolutely magical! Neverland is coming to Birmingham!

Birmingham Museums have announced that the Gas Hall (at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery) is being transformed into Neverland this winter, and I am VERY excited about this one. It definitely needs the capital letters 🤣.

From 23 October to 3 January, we will be able to step into a festive Peter Pan-inspired experience, with twinkling fairy lights, pirate ships, magical forests and some very familiar faces along the way… Peter Pan, Wendy, Captain Hook, Tinkerbell and even the crocodile! Not so sure I want to encounter the latter 🤣. Tick tock.

Such an amazing thing to have right here in Birmingham. Love that it's running over October half term and Christmas too for a festive family treat.

I will definitely be booking tickets to this. ❤️ taken in Birmingham Museums by @smallhousebigtrips
