It’s still hard to believe this has been the entire main level of our home for several weeks now after having to have most of it ripped apart and remediated for mold! Still fighting our insurance company, still trying to decide whether to a) sell it as is and cut bait and walk away but risk trying to find a home we can afford and having to Liam’s school b) plow it down and maybe put a modular home in place if it but it might be too expensive and where do we live while that happens? Or c) rebuild everything hoping to address any future possible moisture issues that could occur and possibly risk it happening again if we get it wrong. Talk about decisions 😅😅

None of them are great because $$$$$ and stress but they are the only 3 options we have at this point. But, as they say, it is what it is and we’ll just have to keep pushing forward one way or another 🤷🏻‍♂️!

We had to do some demo some walls ourselves tonight as we found some walls that had mold that our remediation company missed. The rabbit hole just keeps getting deeper and deeper. Does anyone know at what point where bulldozing and starting over might make more sense financially vs trying to fix all this? 😅

Thanks to everyone who has been so supportive during this process! Tomorrow starts phase 1 of major mold remediation. We have moved to basement temporarily while they do the work on the entire first floor and then once that is complete, we will switch places and they can do the work required on the basement all while hoping it’s not a bad as think it is and praying for a solution as to WHY it’s happening in hoping we can get it rectified. We spent the weekend basically moving everything to the garage and basement awaiting the impending doom. Say a prayer for us tonight if you can 🙏🏻😅 @littlecuppycake by @smartaxewoodworks

Welcome to the status of my shop! Things have changed quite a bit in here and it’s 100% a work in progress but to prepare for us having to have a good portion of house remediated for mold, I’ve sold off a lot of the big machinery to help pay for the impending doom and give us space to store our stuff without having to get a Pod. The good news is, I still can woodwork AND there’s ALL this room for activities now! Anyway, stay tuned for more updates and if you’re looking for some well thought-out shop furniture plans, go check out @bearmountainbuilds !

It’s that time of year again! Welcome fall 🍁🍂

It’s a LONG video but we need help guys! If you know anyone who’s experienced something similar or maybe know what could be causing it. We have a humidity problem in our home and we don’t know how to fix it and we’ve tried so many avenues. It was a flip house when we bought it (regrettingly) and have just discovered an old listing showing mold all in the basement that the flipper then had remediated. Looking back on it, we absolutely should not have bought this house, but now that we’re 7 years into living here, our options are to invest in getting fixed IF we can figure out what to do to prevent it from happening again OR sell it for probably a huge loss and move into a much more expensive house with a much higher interest rate and potentially risk trading one set of issues with our house for another set of issues with another house. We honestly don’t know what to do. Check out the post IF you have time and maybe see if you have any ideas or know someone who might. We’ve had quite a few people out including independent home inspectors, contractors, waterproofers, mold remediators, HVAC companies, insulation companies, etc and no one really can give us any answers on what’s really going on so we’re just dropping lots of money everywhere in hopes it fixes it and then it doesn’t. You never know what you’re gonna find when you walk downstairs in my house 😂 by @smartaxewoodworks

Trying to find my groove again! Watched some Manuel De La Torre videos and there’s something that resonates with me the way old school golf coaches taught golf before all the pressure plates and 3D cameras and positions and ball flight trackers, etc.

Before you say anything, yes I’m insane….meet Black Beauty, the swagger wagon! I figured I’d follow in my father’s footsteps and drive a minivan for a while. I’ve already driven it on the backroads in Sport mode with delight and then taken the seats out and hauled a load of junk to the dump 😉
