This is Major. 💙🇿🇦One week later, and I still struggle to find the right words.People often see a marathon as just a race.For me, moments like this are a reminder of why I keep coming back.I am not an elite athlete. I am just an ordinary person who fell in love with running.Through this sport, and thanks to the people who support me every day, I keep learning, growing, and trying to become a better person.The tears, the gratitude, and the overwhelming emotions at the finish line are only possible because of the incredible people behind every marathon: volunteers, spectators, staff members, and organizers who work tirelessly to turn a race into an unforgettable experience.Thank you to everyone at Cape Town Marathon for making moments like this possible and for creating an experience I will never forget.Some finish lines give you a medal.Others give you a memory for life. 💙🎥 Video by @facesmedia @markfacet ❣️@capetownmarathon 🇿🇦 by @smartina29

𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝘀𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝘃𝗲 𝗳*𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗼𝘁. ✨Because sometimes you stand on the start line thinking you are not ready.Not strong enough.Not fearless enough.Not enough for something this big.And then, little by little, life carries you there anyway.Your body carries you there.The people around you carry you there.The energy, the fear, the beauty, the chaos, the emotion…everything conspires to move you forward.If you truly listen to your body,it will whisper something incredible to you:you were never as unready as you thought you were.A marathon is such a deep emotion.It breaks you open completelyjust to show you how much light you still have inside.Somewhere between the ocean, the crowds, the endless climbs and my tired legs,I stopped running against myself.I let go.I trusted.I felt every second of it.And that’s when I understood something beautiful:sometimes the finish line is much closer than we think.We just need the courage to surrender to the journeyand allow life to carry us there.I dedicate this race to my mum and dad,because they have always allowed me to chase my dreamsand taught me to go and get them.And to all the people around mewho fill my life with an unbelievable amount of love every single day.Cape Town Marathon,you will live inside my heart forever. 🌍🩵#capetownmarathon #mothercity #africas1stmajor #marathon #southafrica @hotelbostonigeamarina @stephan_gram @rosassociati by @smartina29
