On the deck of the USS Lexington. Did not disappoint. Also cool to see the f14 used in Top Gun. Even had Goose and Mavericks plane that they used in the filming resting here. The kids obsession with all things topgun was somewhat satiated 😆. 🔥🖤 taken in USS Lexington Museum by @smcgrath2025

This picture doesn't do it justice. This thing is massive. Standing/walking beside it, below the main deck gives you a weird sense of vertigo or perhaps it was a pull toward the vessel.
.We then sat there watching the ocean, listening, watching cargo ships go off out in to the deep and all of a sudden the moon made its presence known off in the distance. "What is that?!" At first the kiddo didn't even recognize the moon, being larger than she's ever seen it & looking on fire; like a different planet entirely. It's hard to shock this child of mine these days. That was one for the books. My camera couldn't pick it up. It was also that same moment I kicked myself for not packing her digital camera. All good... I have this pic to memorialize that moment, and I have the moments not caught on a digital camera or video etched into our collective memory to carry with us. Sometimes, that's all that matters.
.
And that I didn't fall into the ocean.

Absolutely blown away at @lordhuron performance tonight. Had zero expectations, had no preconceived notions and was utterly impressed.

The set design/art was utterly brilliant. An unforgettable night shared with my favorite child 😆😎.

I love being able to listen to her express how excited she was to hear the songs she hoped to hear. I so love how we shared similar thread of thought on the set design. And how our convos sometimes feel like I am having an internal dialog aloud. She and I are so similar, at times, it is freaky 👀
.
Interestingly. Leading up to tonight-
She purposely made the decision to not listen to Lord Huron so that she could enjoy the music live for the first time(as I had told her about the new (well, its been out a year) album and how much I loved it.
And,
I caught a few clips on video to capture them forever 🫶

@lordhuron : thank you, for coming to arkansas and sharing your night with us. It was bloody brilliant. Well worth the 10 year wait to see you live 💙💙 whomever is your set designer or in charge of creative design deserves a raise.
..
I couldn't have written a better evening.
(& that's a wrap on celebrating her birthday this year - those tix were my gift to her this year 🙏)

Enamored at who this child is becoming. Quick witted, spontaneous, huge heart, firm in what they believe in, figuring out who they are..when they accept when asked "can we take a picture together?" I jump at the chance. Happy 4th. Beyond honored to be called mom by my one and only 🖤 by @smcgrath2025

Live music is my therapy. I am so glad I was in my office friday night and decided to come to dallas for this 🫶
.
4 years and many hours in between these first two meet & greet shots, my 2023 pics are somewhere in the camera roll 🤷‍♀️..but I'm sitting here contemplating how much has happened in between the first time I met Amity in August of 2022 in LA (2nd pic) and right now (1st pic). Honestly, it is a bit overwhelming. Grateful is an understatement.
.
I ran to my car to drop off all the merch and popped their new cd in to listen. Drank a protein shake, swapped purses. I couldn't help myself. It sounds incredible, can't wait to hear it all. Im so happy I have a cd player in my ride 😎
