Repairing filled spot lights.

On my current interior project 5 spotlights are being simplified into two downward pendant lights. Covering the table area this transformation will add a little intimacy when entertaining guests and dining as a family.

Repairs have included plaster inserts to the holes, patch repair kits to add strength and final skim coats using the @smig_uk A2 finishing filler.

⛔️Don’t use the skimming blade for scraping
Use it for its intended purpose - applying and smoothing the material, not removing it.

#diy #painteranddecorator by @smig_uk

Longer skimming blade = smoother results… but it also takes more skill. 👌
The longer the blade, the more control and technique you need to keep the pressure even and achieve a perfectly flat finish.

Would you rather work with a shorter or longer blade? 👇

What’s your size? 👀

When it comes to smoothing blades, size really does matter.

Shorter blades give you more control and are great for smaller areas, corners and detailed work.
Longer blades help you cover more surface with each pass — perfect for large walls and ceilings.

So, which size do you reach for most often? 👇
