Ok. It’s not the greatest painting 😂 But I’m trying to work reeeeeallu small scale here! Heavily inspired by the wonderful artist @lesliestroz , who does some amazing tiny paintings, and @pegandawl ‘s alternative sketchbooks in tiny vintage tins, I decided to make my own, using a vintage Aspirin tin I already had. I love the idea of having a teeny tiny collection of paintings to look through and it’s so easy to take with me on my travels and capturing what I see on the go. I need to practice a bit more though 🤣

I seem to be on a strawberry kick! 😁 I inherited a bunch of stamps and dies for cardmaking and went down a complete rabbit hole. Now I want all the dies!! 🤣 I really loved how this card turned out and I enjoyed using the @staedtlernorthamerica #pigmentartspens to colour it in. I just have to work on my ability to line the die up with the stamp…any tips would be appreciated! taken in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia by @smitch1975

I got you @rayandbonny 😁 My cover for June, inspired by @wildeyesbujo I’m not thrilled with the way the @tombowusa markers bled thru the @sakuraofamerica Jellyroll white gel pen, but it’s fine 😆 I still love how it turned out. I associate June with strawberries because that’s when I see all the tiny wild ones growing around me 🍓 taken in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia by @smitch1975

I’ve been working through #sketchbookrevival2026 and just Loved Ildiko Karsay’s class “Dandelion, herb or weed. She really got me to be loose by using my non-dominant hand on the left page (which I do think is more difficult for left-handed people)! I would@love to be able to create a whole sketchbook of these botanical “studies”! Thank you so much @artbyildy ! taken in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia by @smitch1975

Inspired by recent posts from @janechipp that I have seen on my feed of her #natureboxes I was delighted to discover a beautiful and creative way to display some of my many hundreds of tiny treasures I continually collect on my travels. I have not taken her course but I was moved to recreate the textures and feel in my own way. I used a piece of cardboard to make the box, painted with gesso, antiqued with @tim_holtz @ranger #distressinks, cut a phrase out of an old book, and glued down a beautiful, Florida shell. I love it and will definitely make some more…many more 😆

Sometimes you’ve got to step away. I painted this last night and was very frustrated with it. So I put it aside. Then, when I looked at it this morning, I thought it’s not too bad - IMHO 😆 I will, however not be using this paper again for finished work. It does not hold up very well at all. And I don’t think I like the hot press for this type of painting.

I was inspired by my artsy cousin, @bilbobwn to start doing the #stitchbookchallenge2025 put on by @annwood . I’m a little late to the party so this is day 1 thru 4 😆 I’m loving it so far!
