• a special commission for some lovely friends. There were so many personal touches from friends and family that went into this day and bought their wedding to life. It is truly an honor to contribute, even in a small way, through the invitation illustrations. • by @smith.sketches

You may have seen some of my posts over the last year or so where I’ve thoroughly enjoyed illustrating friends and family (& friends of friends), wedding invites and personalised gifts. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀. Some commissions are extra special. We designed these invitations for my sister Jessie, and Bens wedding in the south of France next summer: wisteria, lavender, whimsy, earthy tones and a whole lot of love painted into every panel. Getting to illustrate this part of her chapter has been the greatest honour. #SmithSketches #WeddingStationery #HandPaintedInvitations #WatercolourInvitations #destinationwedding by @smith.sketches

Some places hold stories — this one holds a lifetime.

I had the honour of painting the Priory Church at Bolton Abbey as a wedding gift commission, capturing not just the stone and landscape, but the feeling of a place where two lives promise forever. There’s something timeless about this setting… quiet, grounding, and full of meaning.

Creating this piece reminded me why I love what I do — turning moments into something you can hold onto, long after the day has passed.

If you could turn a place into a memory on canvas… where would it be?

Painting the Old Sessions House - once a courthouse steeped in centuries of stories, now a place where new ones begin 🤍

This piece was painted as a commission for a recent wedding gift, and I truly loved working on this project - all the more special knowing it would be part of such a meaningful moment. taken in The Old Sessions House by @smith.sketches

When Christie asked me to capture Chris’s favourite spot in London, I knew it was going to be a special one. Now it’s found a new home in Melbourne, serving as a reminder of much loved coffee spot. I’m so happy I could be part of bringing that memory to life.

I had the pleasure of capturing Brockwell Hall for Lucinda and Richard’s wedding invitations. Nestled at the heart of historic Brockwell Park, Brockwell Hall is an exquisite Grade II listed Georgian Mansion. Surrounded by over 125 acres of lush greenery and offering panoramic views of the City, the property captures historic charm with modern elegance. @brockwell_park weddinginvitation #weddingillustration #custominvitation #weddingstationery #bridetobe #weddingdesign luxurywedding modernwedding weddingdetails weddinginspo by @smith.sketches

There’s something very special about bringing a friends wedding invitation to life. Laura and Jordan are due to be married at the Wasing Estate in May 2026, a beautiful venue with a gorgeous courtyard due to be filled with spring flowers. We designed the invitations with an early summer feel, coordinating the save the date colours with the wedding theme colours. We also added extra details to the timeline icons making them extra personal and unique to their big day. 🧡 @laurajglenister @jordanmccann95 weddinginvitation #weddingillustration #custominvitation #weddingstationery #bridetobe #weddingdesign luxurywedding modernwedding weddingdetails weddinginspo by @smith.sketches
