I guess I’ve just been on a Dreamsicle kick. New (ch)air cleaner for the Dreamsicle.
I used to do tons of reverse transfer acid etching to make guitar effect pedals and I’ve never really done that for any of my bikes or parts - why not start now. All for a reference that maybe a few @jasonisbell die hard fans might pick up on.

Finally got around to modifying one of my ARP 12-point banjos to accept the 1/8-NPT for the @zylstrachoppers oil pressure gauge. Now I can be stressed out watching it drop to zero at idle on hot days. Great. by @smithprocess

Robbins, CA. Population 200.
A heat so hot you can hear the dust.
Gas station tacos better than any you’ll find in SF.
Every shadow from even the smallest tree, inviting you in for a sit, and painting vividly the opening chapters of The Grapes, where Joad sits, tortoise in jacket, to share a drink with the less-than-holy ex-preacher. That was south and this is north, that was then and this is now, that was fiction and this is reality, but somehow it feels the same… maybe it is.

Out for a ride around Vallejo on the ‘59 XLCH, I bumped into Tom on his ‘59 XLH and he invited me back to look at his stash of parts. What are the odds?
Nicest guy, spent his career as a machinist at Northrop Grumman. Now he’s 70 and nails the Linkert kickstart in one go while smoking a hand-rolled. Legend.

The Florida that I grew up knowing. Things change / things stay the same.

Oppressive heat and a cacophony of frog, cicada, and cricket choruses.
Poverty and starkly contrasted gilded wealth.
Pristine beaches, bleached in glaring sun, and shaded swamps canopied in cypress trees.
69° springs that still echo the old Florida money of the 1930s that established them as a destination.
Gas stations boasting, and delivering wild baby gators, shells, watermelon and t-shirts to start the vacation conversation back home.
Wood paneled diners with snapshots of visitors before.
Creatures real and fictional in every pond.
Pedestrians, unwilling obviously - no one walks here below a certain income level, not as a choice.
Sunsets to take your breath away.

This is home, and it’s in my blood.
