okay, this one is close to home. Taylor had these two little melody lines and some lyrics going for a long time, they’d visit him daily for over a year he says. we knew there was something special about em, but they were nomadic for a while. til one day in early 2024, as is so often the case when we’re all in the same place, the song just kinda burst into existence. Jeff started playing the guitar line, Swain jumped in on the second verse… and we were airborne. took it as soon as we could to @therubberroom in Chapel Hill, NC (where we all met over a decade ago), and the brilliant @jomoterrell helped us turn it into what it is today.

one of the magical moments from that day in Chapel Hill: hopping in the ‘99 4Runner with the drone of cicadas overhead and giving the studio bounce a listen on the drive back to Durham, just as an early summer storm set in. how fun it is to make music with your friends!

hope y’all enjoy our newest tune ‘Raining’ 💙

one winter weekend in Brooklyn in ‘22, the three of us wrote a song together. we felt like it represented something significant in each of us, so a handful of months later we met up in LA to record it - not knowing what, if anything, would come of it. over the next 18 months, we followed that same rhythm - writing, recording, writing, recording, writing, recording - until one song became many, and we wound up with an album cataloging our long distance friendship and the love and loss we each experienced along our ways. It’s a time capsule of sorts, as much a communal diary as it is a musical work.

ultimately we all felt the pull to share these songs beyond our shared notes page, so here goes…

the first Lexie song is Days When You Were Mine, recorded almost two years ago to the day. we hope you love listening to it as much as we loved making it. more tunes to come as 2025 rolls on ❤️

Spent March watchin' sunsets and digging in with my ride-or-dies.

I think this has been one of the best months of my life. And so far, April's lookin' pretty damn good, too.
