The Duty of Seeking Knowledge

Seeking knowledge is a sacred duty (Fard) upon every single Muslim, unlocking our potential to serve the Ummah and worship Allah with true understanding.

MaashaAllah! Watch as our Grade 8 student, Ilyas Prasetyo, takes the stage as Khatib to deliver a profound Khutbah Jum'at on a topic that lies at the very heart of Islam: The Importance of Seeking Knowledge (Talab al-Ilm).

Why is the pursuit of knowledge so heavily rewarded in Islam?

An Express Pathway to Paradise: The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ promised, "Whoever takes a path upon which to obtain knowledge, Allah makes the path to Paradise easy for him." (Sahih Muslim).

Allah honors those who learn. In the Qur'an, He says: "Allah will elevate those who have believed among you and those who were given knowledge, by degrees." (Surah Al-Mujadilah: 11).

Seeing youth like Ilyas championing the value of education reminds us of our mission at Fitrah Islamic World Academy: to raise leaders who are intellectually sharp and spiritually grounded.

Show some love for our young Khatib! Drop a "MaashaAllah" or a du'a for Ilyas in the comments below! by @smpfiwa

The best day of the year is here.
The Prophet ﷺ said: “The best supplication is the supplication on the Day of 'Arafah.” (Tirmidhi)

This is our golden opportunity to seek forgiveness, change our destiny through du'ā', and renew our hearts.

Share this with your family and friends—whoever guides someone to good will have a reward like whoever did it!

May Allāh accept all our sincere supplications, forgive our past and future shortcomings, and grant us a spot in Jannah. Āmīn.
