Watching two of your closest friends step into parenthood is emotional in ways you don’t quite expect.

Designing the space for their family & friends to celebrate them in felt even more so.

I imagined a whimsical garden that had quietly made its way indoors. Sculptural florals, eucalyptus spilling across the table, tiny woodland friends hidden amongst the flowers and a lemonade stand for our moms, masis & mamas-to-be.

One of my favourite parts of designing weddings is finding ways to let an idea travel beyond the moodboard.

For Kamakshi’s wedding stationery, I drew heavily from Jaipur block prints, so it felt natural to carry those motifs into her mehendi too. We decided to transform the terrace wall into a mural. We drew the artwork and painted it section by section over a few weeks leading up to the wedding celebrations.

Those evenings became their own little ritual. Kamakshi, Varsha, Harshita and I would paint after work, drink endless cups of Dipti Aunty’s kahwa, debate the smallest little changes and then look up to realise it was well past midnight.

The mural became a permanent reminder of the wedding, but those evenings became a part of us. I don’t think I’ll ever look at this wall without thinking of them.

Tracing the final design.

The base coat of the palm tree.

The perfect pink.

Therapy.

Paint and yap.

In the sunlight.

Can’t pick a favourite!

The brief was simple: the padel boys are coming over.

So we kept it minimal. Turf trays to represent the court, clean white + green florals and tennis balls styled into the table like they belonged there.

Cricket on the TV.
Bites within reach.
Nothing over the top.

Just a well-set table and a good night ahead.

Court-side chic for the bride to be!

Textured greens, layered details, and little tennis touches running through everything. A striped tablecloth, a racquet centrepiece, coasters, custom cocktails - all of it tied together without feeling too on-the-nose.

Fun, easy, and still super polished - just the kind of afternoon we wanted for the bride 🎾
