Man, it has been a pleasure coaching this group of young men this year! We finished 19-10 and went further than any MHS boys basketball team has gone in 16 years. But honestly, none of that matters to me.

This team was resilient, and to most, they over achieved! Not in my eyes. I told them all year how special they were. It wasn't always easy, but I would go to war with these guys any day!

You guys made our community and alumni proud! And im proud of y'all and honored to have had the opportunity to coach you! Thank you! by @smurf36

Day 2 of not having to practice plan, scout, and meet with coaches about scout reports has been an adjustment, as our season has concluded after a 2nd round loss on Monday night. I have to say, I'm super proud of this group! This season, we have overcome so much adversity as a team and as individuals!

The emotions that you feel in your body, the air, and your bones. The talk in the locker room, the looks on the faces when a season concludes is something that stings in a way that you would not understand if you haven't been a part of this thing of ours. This is the largest senior class I've had, as we will be graduating 9 seniors. You guys held it down, set a standard, and in your departure, the program is better than it was when you were introduced to it! And for that, you should be proud and I thank you!

Underclassmen, it's your turn!

Love y'all

Montclair men's basketball season came to an end Tuesday night. Our final record stands at 13-12. We improved from last year's 6-15 record, finished 2nd place in our division, and qualified for the State Tournament which has not happened over the past 3 seasons. When a season ends, it's always difficult to take all of the emotions and experiences throughout the season and put words to them. And it never gets easier watching seniors' high school career end.

Huge shout out to all of our seniors! When I accepted this position in late June, they all dove in and became the glue to help me get acclimated to what their experiences have been. They led by example coming to workouts and holding their peers accountable. They took on roles and responsibilities throughout the year that has never been asked of them and never complained. We took an inexperienced group and made something out of it, all while trying to teach a new system. Had it not been for their hard work, leadership, and dedication none of what we accomplished would have been possible.

We have a great young core returning. Our freshman finished with a perfect 22-0 record and won the Frosh ECT. To get to the championship game they beat Seton Hall Prep who has not lost a freshman ECT game in 10 years. Our JV team finished 16-8. Building a successful program, the right way, takes time. However, I like the direction that our program is heading in. To all of our returners, get your rest cause like I said, 2 weeks and we're right back to it with the weight room and team activities.

Big shout out to our coaching staff for countless amounts of work! Taking my calls at wild hours to talk things through. Big shout to our community for all the support shown all year. And a huge shout to our parents for your trust and support to let me and our staff do what we do. We're just getting started.
