Social media has given creatives incredible opportunities to share their process, find an audience, and get their work out there. But sometimes, I wonder if we’re starting to think more about how a project will look on our feeds than the project itself.
I’m not against documenting the process. I do it too. I just wonder where the balance lies, and whether this is something other creatives think about as well.

Troice - HYGMM (Hate That You Gone Miss Me) 🎬☕ @sirtroice
Official Visualiser.

“E go risky pass if I don’t go risky.”

Troice sold his iPhone to throw a concert. He took risks that looked foolish to everyone watching. HYGMM is for everyone who had to choose between playing it safe and going for something solid.

This one’s for the risk takers. For the ones with beautiful scars. 🖤

I didn’t want to make just another lyric video. I wanted to build a visual world around the song.

I started with the storyboard, created character sheets, illustrated everything in Photoshop, then brought it to life in After Effects. I also experimented with AI using Google Flow to create some of the visuals.

The song itself was the biggest inspiration for the direction, and it was a really cool experience working with Troice @sirtroice to translate his music into a visual story.

Still learning, experimenting, and making things I’d want to watch.

comment "HYGMM" for the full video
