Wicked for Good 💫

Anyone else excited for this 🎥 movie?! SAVE to recreate this cookie cake as a sweet celebration!

I used @nestle premade cookie dough for my base & baked at 350 degrees for 22-25 minutes. I let the cake cool before piping my frosting! I added @foliay_llc wicked sprinkles, edible glitter, & varied piping tips for this look. I LOVE how the hat came out. We served with ice cream & smiles 😉 🧙‍♀️.

Fidget Games

Summer is nearing a close here in Colorado. The kids are starting to really get at each other and I’m running out of fun ideas to keep them entertained! Sometimes I just need a really easy go to that’s entertaining and will keep them from fighting. Who’s with me?

I found some really cool games from @thefidgetgamecompany that are educational, exciting, and appropriate for all ages. It can be difficult to find activities that fit all three kids at the same time. This fun game is the sight word edition! It had sight word cards appropriate for each grade level so the kids could play together. All they had to do was read the sight word correctly, roll the dice, and pop their game card to correspond with their dice roll! They played several rounds of this & didn’t need supervision after round 1. Definitely kid & parent approved! Use code RAPID15 to save on your set- Link in my linktree!

Easy Cake Flare 🍰

Don’t feel like baking? Piping frosting? I got you.

All you need: a premade cake (my favorite are the seasonal mini sheet cakes from @traderjoes), cookie cutters, & sprinkles or cake crumbs (my new favorite red velvet crumbles from @foliay_llc are the BEST). I had to do a little clean up with food tweezers on account of my perfectionism, but I would not endorse this as a requirement 😆.

Reminder: Kids don’t need expensive entertainment to have an unforgettable summer. ☀️🍋

A DIY lemonade bar takes just a few minutes to set up, but they’ll spend way longer creating their own perfect drink.

Even when the days are hard, they’re still my favorite people.

Being a parent is hands down the most challenging thing I’ve ever done- including medical school, residency, surgery, & heartbreak. There are days I want to walk away. Cry in a corner. Stop caring. I’m sure I’m not alone.

This isn’t the way I envisioned captioning this reel, but the audio spoke to me - it was just a gentle reminder how lucky I am.

Taking part in learning & watching these mini-mes grow has been the absolutely privilege of my life. As the years go by, I have clung to the simple set ups that make my life easier while helping them thrive. This density jar activity was just a small part of our @imthecheftoo STEM baking kit, but the jars brought so much excitement and awe for them. They still sit on their desks for play nearly a week later.

This creamy pasta tastes like it came from a restaurant… but it’s ready in about 30 minutes. 🍝✨

Perfect for busy weeknights and made almost entirely with Trader Joe’s favorites!

Ingredients
🤍 1 package Trader Joe’s Fresh Fettuccine or Fresh Fusilli Corti Bucati
🤍 1 package Trader Joe’s Grilled Chicken Breast Strips, chopped
🤍 1 container Boursin Garlic & Fine Herbs
🤍 2–3 oz prosciutto, torn into pieces
🤍 3–4 cups baby spinach
🤍 ½ cup chopped sun-dried tomatoes (drained)
🤍 ½ cup heavy cream
🤍 ¼–½ cup reserved pasta water
🤍 Freshly shaved Parmesan
🤍 Fresh basil, sliced
🤍 Fresh cracked black pepper

Directions

1. Cook the pasta according to the package directions, reserving ½ cup of the pasta water before draining.
2. While the pasta cooks, crisp the prosciutto in a large skillet over medium heat for 2–3 minutes. Remove half for garnish, leaving the rest in the pan.
3. Add the chicken and sun-dried tomatoes and cook until warmed through.
4. Stir in the spinach until just wilted.
5. Add the Boursin, heavy cream, and about ¼ cup of the reserved pasta water. Stir until smooth and creamy.
6. Toss in the cooked pasta, adding more pasta water as needed until every noodle is coated in the sauce.
7. Top with shaved Parmesan, the reserved crispy prosciutto, fresh basil, and black pepper.

DIY toast board 🧀

My life is so much easier when the kids & parents both have choices they like AND it’s one single meal for mom. I had this fun idea to make a DIY cheese toast. Contents of our board ⬇️. PS- a girl actually said this to me, at a wedding, while I was eating cheese 😆. True story.

4 ingredient chicken Caesar pockets

Only have 10 minutes to make dinner & don’t want fast food? Here’s a recipe for you. SAVE this for a busy weeknight!

What you need:

🥗 romaine lettuce
🥬 @traderjoes Caesar salad dip
🐓 premade cooked and seasoning chicken
🥖 focaccia bread

I doubled up my Caesar salad mix for a family of five, shredded some romaine lettuce, and toasted this delicious bread from Trader Joe’s. I cut the bread into halves and quarters to allow easier eating for the kids and adults! Gently open the focaccia and stuff with your Caesar salad mix. No carbs for you? Skip the Bread!
