I don't remember the last time I genuinely sat down to paint 😭

I'm an artist, illustrator and storyteller based in the tiny town of Tenino, WA (25 minutes south of Olympia)

I often describe my artstyle as whimsical, cozy and "folksy." I'm greatly inspired by a variety of contemporary artists including Phoebe Wahl, Rebecca Green, Felicita Sala, and many more.

My work draws inspiration from my nostalgia and the love I have for the Pacific Northwest. I most often explore themes of home, comfort, love, friendship, as well as trauma, anxiety and grief.

I grew up a very anxious, very sensitive, homeschooled queer autistic kid in rural Washington. I struggled a lot with my mental health and managing friendships.
These adolescent experiences continue to carry on into my storytelling today.

in May 2025, I graduated from the Pacific Northwest College of Art with an Illustration degree.

Right before graduation, my dog died while I was still in Portland. I had adopted her when I was 15 with the money I earned from selling my art.
I was a complete mess. I spent an absurd amount of money on a new puppy who turned out to have a lot of behavioral issues. (I still love him though.)

I was extremely burnt out and couldn't find work anywhere-- not even dairy queen would hire me. I was down to only $200.

Randomly, I posted an instagram reel. And it blew up. I started hyperfixating on social media. More and more of my reels began blowing up. I started getting sales on my website. I realized that my art could, potentially, support me. It was worth a shot.

So I began growing my small business, Snail Shells Art. Snail Shells Art is just me! my art, and everyday products inspired by PNW nature and everything I love.

A large part of my heart also lies in the publishing industry. In between markets, product designs and other projects, I've been slowly working on a picture book dummy that is very dear to my heart. Stay tuned! by @snailshells.art
