I met this woman at a poetry event and something about her instantly stood out to me. Her energy, her outfit, her whole look just matched the type of vision I love capturing, so I walked up and asked if I could take a few pictures of her. We got a couple shots inside and they came out cool, but then as I was walking outside, I saw her heading to her car and something told me to ask one more time. I said, “HEY, can I get a couple more pictures of you?” She smiled and said, “You know what… yeah.”
Right then I spotted this small staircase with these grassy brick textures that matched her outfit and whole aesthetic perfectly. We instantly got to work. Everything flowed naturally like we’d worked together before. The craziest part? She ended up being a real model, which explained why everything felt so smooth and effortless. We shot the whole thing in about 3 minutes.
I’m honestly blessed to have met her. Moral of the story, never be afraid to ask someone to take their picture. When you know what you like to capture and you see someone who fits the vision, go for it. You never know what they’ll say.
