My latest combo after a soak and some time outside in the sun ☀️

This 790 yards of 3 ply features fibre dyed by @ixchelbunny @fleecefolkfibre and @marinaskua and contains 8 types of wool, cashmere, angora and 2 types of silk!!! by @snapshotsofherlife

My @ambearlizmakes ‘Welcome Home’ 3 ply spin finished drying today and this @haunuiwool really puffed up after a soak! I ended up with 450 yards of the softest and squishiest yarn and I’m stoked to have hit my target yardage (plus a little bit) for this spin 😀 by @snapshotsofherlife

This is the first 150 grams of my @mellyknits Touski spindle spin. I’m one third of the way through my current Touski stash but I think I might need to stalk the next few shop updates for another batt or two to get me to the sweater yardage I’m looking for 😂 by @snapshotsofherlife

Just in case you were curious, this is how my @ambearlizmakes @haunuiwool “Cosy Cabin” and @bramble_ridge Rambouillet/Silk “Herb Garden” combo spin turned out!

I ended up with roughly 1200 yards of 3-ply along with around 150 yards of chain plied “Herb Garden”. I have no idea why I had so much of this left over because my two Haunui singles were almost perfectly equal 😂 by @snapshotsofherlife

I needed a break from dark and moody spins so I pulled out one of my @mellyknits Touski batts for something light and bright. I’m calling this one fairy bread 😍 by @snapshotsofherlife

The first half of my current combo spin is currently resting. I have @bramble_ridge Rambouillet silk (Herb Garden) in the middle and @ambearlizmakes @haunuiwool (Cosy Cabin) on either side. I’m excited to see how these ply up 😍 by @snapshotsofherlife

Sharing the outcome of the combo spin I started just after TDF!

I had two braids of Gra Trondersau fibre in the dark and moody Bog Witch colour from @ixchelbunny that I plied with one braid of @haunuiwool Harlequin Silk blend in the Rainbow Trout colour from @teapotyarns for 1011 yards of 3-ply yarn (plus a little bit of chain plied leftovers).

I’m not great at spinning across the braid so I split the Harlequin blend into the dark (photo 2) and light (photo 3) sections. I will either knit these from skein to skein for a kind of fade effect or alternate skeins to really mix everything together once I know what these skeins will become 🤣 by @snapshotsofherlife

I went back to my fibre bins looking for a single bag for my next wheel project but all I saw was combos! This is @ambearlizmakes @haunuiwool (storm) in the colour ‘Cosy Cabin’ on the left (and in photo 3) with @bramble_ridge Rambouillet Silk in the colour ‘Herb Garden’ on the right (and in photo 4). I think it will make a moody combo spin 😍 by @snapshotsofherlife

I took a break from my wheel and picked up my @mellyknits Touski spin! This is the first 25 grams of my Touski sweater spin. Which reminds me … I might need another Touski batt or two to get enough yardage.

I’m enjoying this way more on my spindles! It’s still lumpy and bumpy but without the big slubs I kept drafting when I tried this on my wheel during TDF. So in a good way 🤣
