Kicking off Monday with something a little different because maternity isn’t the only chapter I photograph around here.

For those who don’t know, I’m also a newborn photographer!

And funny enough, I have one very persistent friend to thank for it.

She DEMANDED I photograph her newborn session, and y’all... I was mortified. I was so nervous about handling a tiny little baby that I begged her for WEEKS to please let me stick to maternity instead. 😭

She refused. 😳

Turns out, she saw something in me that I couldn’t see yet.

That one session turned into another, and another, and somewhere along the way I went from being terrified to having an entire collection of wraps, props, outfits, and tiny newborn goodies ready for these sweet little sessions.

Now I get to photograph families through more than one chapter, from the growing belly to those teeny fingers, sleepy stretches, and first family photos once baby is finally here.

I even created a Motherhood Collection for my expecting mamas who want both maternity AND newborn photos, so you don’t have to find a new photographer, explain your style all over again, or start from scratch once baby arrives. We can plan both chapters together.

And this family?! An absolute gem to photograph. Their little one was precious, and their doggo was VERY committed to stealing the show.

If you want to see more of my newborn work, come hang out with me over at @snapzbytienewborn!

And if you’re currently growing a tiny human and already know you want both maternity and newborn or just newborn photos, send me a message and we can start planning both.

I’ve been sitting on this for awhile because I’m still shocked but happy to share that my photo is the cover of @babysocietyla’s magazine this quarter!!!

😭😭😭😭

Like whatttttt!! So incredibly honored and thankful! Thank you again @babysocietyla!!

And if you don’t know what Baby Society is they are a magazine based in LA and Vegas where they share articles and tips related to motherhood and babies! You can also learn about other local businesses in LA. I enjoy reading it!

Can’t stop pinching myself 🥰🥰🥰

Momma to grace it was my beautiful friend @lissyosocurly!

I guess we can say I had a good time 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I had to ride the Incredicoaster twice to make sure I like it. 10/10

Shout out to my friends for coming as a late happy birthday! I’m going to frame these pictures! by @snapzbytie

The goal is to always keep your vision first. From wardrobe to accessories to poses, everything is done that fits you and your family.

Whether you like simple or extravagant, your portraits should match you. This is one reason why my moms love hiring me! They love that they get an experience and get to bring their personality to the photographs.

The actual photos are probably the smallest part of what goes into your maternity session.

Before you ever step in front of my camera, I’m packing, planning, prepping outfits, and setting up every little detail so that when you arrive, everything is ready for you.

Because I know getting in front of a camera while pregnant can feel a little intimidating, especially when you’re already juggling a million other things.

My job is to take care of the details so you can enjoy this moment, feel beautiful, and have photos that remind you of just how incredible this season of your life was.

And yes, apparently that requires packing half my studio every time.

When I’m not photographing bumps and babies, I dabble in photographing women and their brands!

Having images that speak to the soul of your business is the key to attracting your ideal clients!

Her is my sister, @abtcollective, the top and best candle studio in the DMV!! If you were a client in my early days, I gifted her candles to you! Everyone praises how good they smell! If you don’t know, go get familiar!!

So if you were wondering if I can work with you outside of maternity and newborn, here’s one way! Others are family, birthdays, and movement!

See you in the studio!

You’re documenting everything about your baby’s arrival. But what about you?

The baby shower. The nursery. The tiny outfits. The ultrasound pictures. The endless photos you’ll take once your little one arrives.

There’s so much excitement around preparing for your baby, and rightfully so!

But somewhere in all that preparation, I want you to remember that this is your story, too.

Whether this is your first pregnancy or your fourth, you’re experiencing a chapter of your life that deserves to be documented.

And your maternity photos don’t have to look like anyone else’s.

They can be bold, creative, sophisticated, playful, or a little bit of everything. What matters is that they reflect YOU and how you want to remember this season.

Because while we’re celebrating the little person you’re bringing into the world, I think we should celebrate you, too.

And if you’re still deciding whether maternity photos are worth it, save this as your reminder that you deserve to be in the pictures, too.

Mom, this is your friendly reminder that if you book a maternity session with me and want those dramatic fabric photos, Dad WILL be promoted to photography assistant for the day.

No experience necessary. Just a good throwing arm and the ability to follow directions.

And don’t worry, I’ll be directing everything because we’re getting that shot one way or another!

The things we do for a little maternity magic.

At a recent expo, a mom stopped to admire one of my maternity portraits. She loved the image, but told me she didn’t think she could ever look like the woman in the photo.

And I’ve been thinking about that conversation ever since.

Because here’s what I wish more women understood about my work:

I’m not trying to make you look like the women in my portfolio. I’m trying to photograph the best version of YOU in this season of your life.

The women you see on my page have different bodies, personalities, comfort levels, and visions for their maternity photos. And that’s exactly how it should be.

You don’t need to walk into my studio knowing how to pose, what to do with your hands, or how to give a camera-ready expression.

That’s where I come in.

I guide you through the poses, help bring your vision together, and create images that celebrate who you are. Not who you think you need to be.

So please don’t look at another mom’s maternity photos and decide that this experience isn’t for you.

You deserve to see yourself beautifully, too.

The last time I saw this little lady, she was tiny boots, curled up in my newborn basket.

Her mom recently showed me an updated picture of her, and EXCUSE ME?! She’s practically getting ready to move out and pay bills now! 😭😂

It’s been a whole year, and I genuinely cannot believe how much she’s grown.

And this is exactly why I love newborn photography. One minute they’re tiny enough to fit in a basket, and the next they’re celebrating their first birthday.

These little moments go by SO fast, but the photographs? Those are forever.

LA moms, if you’ve been thinking about booking your newborn session, this is your sign to get it on the calendar! I bring the studio experience right to your home.

Some people see a sheet of Mylar. I see a whole maternity editorial waiting to happen.

Because who said maternity photos have to follow a formula?!

Give me some interesting lighting, an unexpected prop, and a momma who’s ready to have a little fun, and we’re about to create something GOOD.

And the best part? You don’t have to show up knowing how to pose or what to do with any of it. That’s MY job. You just get to show up, feel beautiful, and enjoy being the main character for a few hours.

Los Angeles mommas, if your Pinterest board is looking a little more Vogue than traditional maternity, I think we’re going to get along just fine.
