It is always a pleasure to see what puppet people are working on. Yesterday there was show and tells, fun costumes, discussions around sharing files for animatronic puppets and general DIY spookiness. Happy Halloween puppets people! 💜 by @sneakiestdeak

Things that I saw today at @ngvmelbourne by @sneakiestdeak

Ok so today was the opening of the @qagoma exhibition Make Believe Magic- The Worlds of the Jim Henson company… & It felt like home.
Obviously Kermit, Robyn, the Manamana guy, Grover, Ernie, Oscar, Snuffy et al- a part of my formative childhood… Oh but the world building in each of the rooms! iI literally gasped when I entered Fraggle Rock. There’s Ojo & Treelo , there’s original pencil sketches, short films and blatches.

The lede images on this post are an important part of Australian puppet history as the @hensoncompany filmed Farscape in Homebush, Sydney in the early 2000’s. I interned on that show, a student at the @westernsydneyu … @puppetmanmccoy was pivotal in facilitating this- So many Sydney puppeteers worked on that series!! @sydneypuppettheatre Sue Wallace & Steve Coupe puppeteered on the show, as did Fiona Gentle, Graeme Haddon/ @instagraeme68 , Sean Masterton & so many more

tonight my 15 year old daughter ( a part of the latest generation of lovers of Jareth) encouraged me to chat with both Lisa Henson and Karen Prell- & I’m so grateful to have spoken to both of them! What a privilege

There were artists, puppeteers, curators, arts enthusiasts, influencers and politicians in the room - all a part of a gathering honouring the work of puppet visionary Jim Henson and his team- which to be honest seems quite astounding to me.
Thank you to the @qagoma team for the foresight in recognising the potential of puppets being the linchpin of a summer blockbuster #radishes #unima #unimaaustralia #unimainternational by @sneakiestdeak

Today is a good day - off to the pre opening of : Make Believe Magic- the Worlds of Jim Henson
