Just returned from the CODA summit @codaworx in Santa Fe, feeling very inspired and grateful for what we experienced. It was great to see friends and make new connections! It was a valuable opportunity to share and learn about public art practices, commissions, fabrication, and research. by @snebtor

We’re grateful to Dr. Esteban García Bravo, Assistant Professor of Digital Media Art & Spatial Art in SJSU’s Department of Art & Art History, for helping bring Centro’s student gallery back to life. With his mentorship, a group of students developed and curated Nuestro Sueño Americano / Our American Dream, an exhibit celebrating the creativity, culture, and experiences of SJSU students. The exhibit features artwork by 12 student artists and will be on display at Centro throughout the year.

This exhibit continues a gallery vision Centro began in 2019 with Aquí Estamos y No Nos Vamos, curated by Art Department faculty member Eliana Cetto. We’re thankful to Dr. García Bravo and our students for helping carry that vision forward.

Join us today, Wednesday, September 23, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. in Student Union Room 1340 to meet the artists and celebrate their work. Light refreshments will be provided.

Thank you San Jose Office of Cultural Affairs @sjculture for your support and featuring this ad in the latest issue of @contentmag ! It was such a great surprise to receive this while recovering from my nose surgery. 🙏🏼 I feel proud of the work we accomplished with my students and the reach that the sculptures had in the city. It is estimated that 1 million people attended San Pedro Square during the Fútbol World Cup. Also, feel lucky of sharing this page with @mindbender.art who had her amazing Gaiascope down at the circle of palms. 💕✨ taken in San Jose, California by @snebtor

Come to the @sanjosemuseumofart this Friday 8/14!
In this welcoming, hands-on demo, participants will get a behind-the-scenes look at the creative and technical process behind a series of public light sculptures created for SJ26 by SJSU Professor Esteban Garcia Bravo in collaboration with his art students @digitaldreambf and @phin.the.filter

Visitors will explore the basics of LED color mixing and learn how video mapping can transform sculptural surfaces with projected animation, light, and movement. Rather than completing a finished project, participants will be invited to interact with the LED and video mapping systems, experiment with light and projection, and gain a better understanding of how these tools are used in public art.

The demo will also include a presentation by Nandi @marocco of DJ @losritmoscalientes , featuring LED animated lights synchronized with music. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet and greet the artists and students involved in creating artwork featured in the streets of San José during major public events such as FIFA World Cup, March Madness, and Super Bowl LX through the support of @sjculture

You will also have the opportunity to meet Brooke @mindbender.art -the magnificent artist that created Gaiascope, installed at the Circle of Palms. Brooke will also be making a Kaleidoscope-making workshop. by @snebtor
