A few months behind with some of my posts, but better late than never! 📸✨

Back in mid-July, we spent a night at the Hampton by Hilton Manchester Northern Quarter 🏨 whilst enjoying a weekend exploring Manchester and Liverpool as a belated present for Mel’s 30th! 🎂❤️

I honestly wasn’t expecting too much, but I was pleasantly surprised! The hotel is right on the edge of Manchester city centre, making it a brilliant base for exploring, enjoying a night out and getting around the city. It was also much more reasonably priced than a lot of the other hotels in the area, which was a bonus! 🙌

The room was great, the location was spot on, and the buffet breakfast the following morning was brilliant too! 🍳🥓🥐 There was even a waffle maker, which went down very well! 🧇😋

Definitely one I’d happily stay at again and would recommend to anyone looking for a reasonably priced city break in Manchester! 🏙️👌

Straight from a Panto rehearsal, to the stage door of the Derngate theatre for the first time in ages. Just met acting royalty Nigel Havers! A very quiet man but nevertheless obliging - signed my autograph book and had this photo before signing/doing selfies with 3 other people waiting. taken in Royal & Derngate by @sniff001

Had the pleasure today of meeting Titanic royalty - American actor BILLY ZANE who played the nasty Cal Hockley in the film - Rose’s fiancé; as well as other roles such as in Back to the Future. It was nice to meet him although initially he signed a photo and my Titanic Blu Ray cover to ‘James’ which of course I am not. I told him Titanic is one of my top favourite films, and he asked me about which other films are my favourites. Later in the day I did return to his queue and grovelled to the lady taking money for his autographs, and he kindly signed me a new photo and amended the name on my Blu Ray cover without a quibble. He wouldn’t shake my hand but did a fist bump, and we had this photo shoot together at 3:30. Lovely to meet you @billyzane taken in Comic Con Liverpool by @sniff001

American Actor RICK HOFFMAN this afternoon at Liverpool Comic Con. I best know Rick for starring in one of my favourite horror films ‘Hostel’, and we chatted about this as barely anyone had asked him to sign a Hostel photo, as he’s better known for ‘Suits’. He explained to me that he actually was asked by Eli Roth to be involved literally two days before filming so he explained to me that his first scene in the film he was actually at the time very nervy, sleep deprived and really not feeling good; but all of that is still there in the film. I complimented him on his acting because you would not tell. He said his role was originally meant to be played by Quentin Tarantino, but Tarantino was removed from the role because in Hollywood he explained to me that they do not like actors that cause controversy and turn people against them. He told me that he is still good friends with the main actor from Hostel; and the producer. It was a fascinating chat and we had this photo together after he signed the photo you can see in the picture. taken in Comic Con Liverpool by @sniff001

The photoshoot I was most worried about losing. Game of Thrones Icon EMILIA CLARKE (aka Daenerys Targaryen, Queen of Dragons) at Liverpool Comic Con today. This is the second time I’ve had pleasure of meeting her; but previously met her with Iain Glen who played her right hand man in GoT. I’ve always had a soft spot with Emilia. Loved her in GoT; also loved her in ‘Last Christmas’; and she of course did ‘Me Before You’ too. A lovely lady; and really pleased with how this photo turned out. 😊 taken in Comic Con Liverpool by @sniff001

Has the pleasure of today meeting actor SEAN PERTWEE, son of the legendary Jon Pertwee (Doctor Who, Worzel Gummidge, SuperTed etc) who was of course another major part in the film Dog Soldiers, and also recently starred in the drama ‘The Night Caller’ about a radio presenter (Sean Pertwee) who a taxi driver becomes obsessed with. We chatted about both Dog Soldiers and The Night Caller. I recalled a favourite scene of mine from Dog Soldiers where Sean Pertwee is punched to knock himself out after suffering a catastrophic injury at the hands of the werewolves. Sean told me he actually had the tip of his nose broken in the making of that scene (!); and we then we discussed The Night Caller which he said he really enjoyed doing and found it very dark, but unfortunately it did not get the viewing figures and ratings that they’d hoped for. A lovely man, and a rare person that actually got up from the table to shake the hands of every person in his autograph queue, rather than just stay sat down like most of them tend to do. taken in Comic Con Liverpool by @sniff001

Had the pleasure this morning of meeting actor DARREN MORFITT most famous for playing ‘Spoon’ in Dog Soldiers, which was one of the first horror films I ever saw and instantly loved. Darren has one of the funniest lines in the film when he goes outside the cottage they’re hiding in in Scotland, lights a flare and shouts “Come and have a go if you think you’re hard enough!!” to the werewolves. A genuinely lovely guy - he signed both my Dog Soldiers Blu Ray cover, and a photo from the film. taken in Comic Con Liverpool by @sniff001

Wonderful a few weeks ago to have spent a day in Southwold when we were away in Suffolk. Southwold holds happy childhood memories of a short break spent with my Nan & Auntie at a cottage that belonged to my Great Uncle in the late 90’s, however it was many years until I actually returned; and in the past 10 years I have visited several times for a day, or a weekend at one point for Mel’s birthday. It’s fair to say it’s become one of mine and Mel’s shared favourite places, and somewhere we always feel very much at peace. We spent a good few hours on this day pottering around the town, the Pier, enjoying Adnams ale at the famous Sole Bay Inn and walking along that gorgeous seafront. Can’t get enough of it. 🌊☀️ taken in Southwold, Suffolk by @sniff001

Meeting actor JOHN PARTRIDGE tonight after his incredible performance as Dr. Hannibal Lecter in ‘The Silence of the Lambs’ at the Milton Keynes Theatre which me and Dad had front row seats for. An incredible play, and a must-see for any fans of the book or film!! John of course played Christian in Eastenders from 2007-2016; has an extensive West End history and has won Celebrity Masterchef. Although he was in a bit of a rush he signed 3 things for me and had this photo. Lovely to meet you @johnnypartridgecooks @sotlplay taken in Milton Keynes Theatre by @sniff001

A beautiful sunset over the lake at Rumburgh Farm, where we stayed with Mel’s parents last weekend — and where we spent a whole week last year too. 🌅

This place really is the definition of peace and tranquillity. Right in the middle of nowhere, completely undisturbed, and wonderfully quiet.

And the best part? This view was literally from the front door of our log cabin. Absolutely incredible. ❤️

The Yoxman Statue in Yoxford, in the grounds of Cockfield Hall (ironic), photographed last weekend on our 4 nights away. This 26-foot tall bronze statue is quite creepy in the dark (!), and was unveiled in 2021. #Yoxman #Yoxford #Suffolk #CockfieldHall #SuffolkAdventures by @sniff001

Had a fantastic afternoon on Sunday at the Henham Park Steam Rally in Suffolk! 🚂☀️
Held on the same site as Latitude Festival, this enormous steam rally was bigger than any steam fayre I’ve ever visited before!
There was so much to see, from countless vintage vehicles and magnificent steam engines to a huge traditional fairground, rows upon rows of stalls, food stands and displays.
We spent a good 3–4 hours exploring everything and absolutely loved it. Such a brilliant atmosphere and a fantastic way to spend a Sunday afternoon! 😍
