5 Unhinged things I did to help me heal after my divorce

1. People thought I was CRAZY
2. The best place to cry IMO
3. I’ll deny everything
4. Hard recommend
5. Exposure therapy 101

You do what you gotta do to amirite? Anyone else do something drastic or just me 🤣

If I could go back 10 years… 34yo me would never believe it.

Spooky season at @highonheelsx

Not including the actual scary part when I had a full breakdown, got completely in my head and overwhelmed and couldn’t stop crying in class. The insanity of perimenopause and the hormonal ups and down are not to be taken lightly at this age. I started HRT at 42 but some months it can still hit me like a brick wall and make me question my entire life 🙈

But the support of the women and the community in class kept me going and safe to say normality has resumed.

Dance brings me so MUCH joy, but it’s everything else that comes with it that makes it’s so special for me.

I read somewhere you either have a naked neighbour or you are the naked neighbour… safe to say I know which one I am given I haven’t had curtains up for about the last 4 years 🤣

But delighted with these stripey curtains form @wearetbco
I wanted a bold look to contrast with the light walls and the colours are perfect.

Oh and my kids hate them 🤣

Posting because I’m proud of myself.
Posting because I can see how much progression I’ve made in 6 months.
Posting because it’s taken me 44 years to say that I’m a dancer.
Posting because I want to look back when I’m 80 and know I was a fucking badass.
Posting because I nailed it.

But also the hype team and teachers at @highonheelsx are next level and I wouldn’t have nailed it without them!

Accidentally took a 3 week break but I’m back baby, mostly because I need to prove to myself that I can actually finish this job without it anyone telling me to do so 🤣

I’ve realised I tend to fall off the wagon when things are like 70% finished.. enough is done to make me feel like I’ve achieved it but not quite enough for it to be fully realised. Something to work on I guess.

Can’t promise a Halloween reveal but I’m working towards it!

I still dont have it all figured out.
10 years ago I thought my life was set - husband, 3 kids and a thriving business. Fast forward to now and I’m divorced, self employed and still trying to figure out what direction to go in next.

But one thing I’ve learned since my divorce and closing my business is that this girl can pivot.

I started content creation age 42
Had my first costume design job age 43
I performed on stage for the first time age 44

No dream is too big, go back to what you loved as a teenager and focus on the joy.
