My newest rug! A recreation of a (sold out) patch from one of my fav design teams @skinnyships out of Portland.

I loved this design so much and knew the bold lines would transfer really well to tufting, so I recreated it in illustrator and will be gifting it to my niece this Xmas!

23.5”x24.5” (100% acrylic yarn. Felt backing.)

I’ve been learning how to needle punch lately, adding it to the repertoire of hyper-fixations of skills — but I’ve really been having so much fun. Learning how to tuft is next, with the ultimate goal being making wall hangings and rugs. There’s something I’ve been loving so much about fiber arts that gives me a satisfaction i don’t get from drawing or painting. Maybe it’s because I love things that take time to make — I think the greater the effort, the more satisfying the final product is. Maybe it’s because I’ve always wanted to be able to touch art at a museum and this is the next best thing. Either way, I’m having a blast and I’ll keep sharing my progress. Great things are coming!
