Major Milestone for Perisher today 🎉🎈🙌

Perisher is celebrating a major milestone for the 2026 snow season, with lifts in all four resort areas operating for the first time this winter following a welcome 33cm snowfall and continued snowmaking efforts across the resort.
@perisher_resort

#ski #skiing #skiaus #perishervalley❄️ #snowy

“The recent multi-day snowstorm has transformed conditions across the mountain, delivering the natural snow needed to expand terrain and accelerate lift openings,” said Emily Smith, Senior Manager Brand + Experience.

“Combined with favourable snowmaking conditions, the fresh snow has helped our teams to open terrain at a rapid pace across Perisher, Blue Cow, Smiggin Holes and Guthega.

The combination of natural snowfall and strong snowmaking conditions has created real momentum on the mountain, and we're excited to give guests more terrain, more lifts and more reasons to get out and enjoy the snow."

Today's openings include the highly anticipated Mt Perisher 6, alongside Ridge Quad Chair at Blue Cow and Blue Calf T-Bar at Guthega, marking the first time lifts at all four resort areas have operated this season.

"The 33cm we received over the past few days has allowed us to build our base, open more terrain and deliver the kind of skiing and snowboarding experience our guests have been eager for,” said Ms Smith.

“Having all four resort areas operating and welcoming guests onto our newest high-speed chairlift, the Mt Perisher 6, for the first time in the season is a fantastic milestone, particularly as families enjoy the second week of the school holidays. We're incredibly proud of the work our teams have done this season.” taken in Perisher, Snowy Mountains by @snowaction

The snowfall started at Hotham around 10pm last night with 17cm falling through the night. Cold temperatures also gave our snowmakers the opportunity to match Mother Nature’s offering.

“It’s still blizzarding out here and we’ve just opened Village Chairlift, which means top to bottom skiing now at Hotham; people are so excited to see it,” said Claire Talbot, Hotham’s Brand + Experience Coordinator. “And it’s only day one of a four day storm. We’re super excited to see what else it brings

Falls Creek woke to 14cm of fresh snow overnight, while temperatures plunged to -4.1°C, allowing snowmakers to make the most of the wintry conditions. According to the latest Weatherzone forecast, this is just the beginning and more snow is expected throughout today and into the coming week.

The Falls Creek crew is jumping for joy today as 14cm of snow blanketed the village today!

Perisher woke to 15cm of natural snow overnight, with more on the way. Temperatures dipped to a chilly -3.8C, perfect for snowmaking to give Mother Nature a helping hand since 3am, and still pumping out snow now.
"Fifteen centimetres of fresh snow overnight has transformed the mountain,” said Emily Smith, Senior Manager, Brand + Experience.

“Combined with ongoing snowmaking and favourable temperatures, it's exactly the boost we were hoping for as we head into the heart of winter." taken in Australia by @snowaction

Hokkaido Powder Belt Resort Spotlight Series: Mount Asahidake 🌋❄️ @hokkaidopowderbelt_official

If you’re looking for manicured runs and cozy ski-in/ski-out villages, keep scrolling. Asahidake is NOT a ski resort-and that is exactly the point.

Welcome to the raw, elemental heart of Daisetsuzan National Park. As Hokkaido’s highest peak (2,291m), Asahidake offers a wild alpine experience where the Daisetsuzan Asahidake Ropeway whisks you from the base terminal into deep, unrivaled powder in under ten minutes.

Here, the boundaries between the tracks and the wilderness are razor-thin. Volcanic hot springs bubble beneath the snowpack, hidden creeks cut through the terrain, and the weather commands absolute respect—shifting from crisp bluebird skies to a total blizzard whiteout in mere minutes.

🏔️ THE QUICK STATS:
• Summit Elevation: 2,291 meters (Hokkaido’s highest peak)
• Vertical Drop: Approx. 1,190 meters
• The Setup: 1 intermediate course, 1 advanced course, and endless raw alpine terrain.

🥾 Beyond the Skis: Snowshoeing the Volcanic Valley
Not a backcountry skier? Strapping on snowshoes is one of the most unforgettable ways to experience this dramatic winter landscape. We joined a guided tour winding through untouched snowfields, walking past steaming vents, and navigating snow-covered forests where towering peaks rise up all around you.

⚠️ Know Before You Go:
• Respect the Weather: This is an extreme environment. Always check conditions and consider hiring a guide (like the teams at Wednesday Mountain Works or North Glamper Furano) to safely navigate the terrain.
• Leave the Littles at Home: While the base terminal has great amenities (like a café and baby change facilities), the mountain itself is rugged and not family-friendly for toddlers or preschoolers. taken in Asahidake Ropeway by @snowaction

Sharlene's XTM discovery 🙌🎿

When Sharlene first heard about @xtm_performance , she never imagined it would become her very own go-to ski gear...
In fact, for years, this mum of three only bought XTM for her kids from Rebel Sport, and associated it with entry-level, budget pieces, something she wouldn’t wear herse.

A recent chance to test the gear in Japan completely changed her mind....After testing it in Japan's freezing conditions she was impressed by how well it performed… Just listen to her review!

Sharlene was testing: XTM Chamonix II Waterproof Womens Snow Jacket in White
