Has your main camera changed in the last 3 years?

What are you shooting with now, and what did you switch from?

Genuinely curious. by @snowdriftai

The better you get as a photographer, the harder culling becomes.

Bad photos are easy to reject.

Great photos are difficult to separate.

At some point you’re no longer choosing between good and bad.

You’re choosing between excellent and slightly different.

And after a few thousand images, every photographer starts playing their own version of “spot the difference.”

That’s decision fatigue—not lack of skill.

One thing I've learned building Snowdrift:

Photographers don't have a storage problem.

They have a finding-photos problem.

The bigger your library gets, the less useful folders, collections, and keywords become.

That's why we're investing so heavily in AI-powered search and organization. by @snowdriftai

Big milestone for Snowdrift today. 🎉

The Snowdrift desktop app is now available for both Mac and Windows, and we've also launched our Lightroom Classic plugin.

You can now select photos in Lightroom, choose "Send to Snowdrift," and upload directly into your Snowdrift library using the desktop app.

Once uploaded, take advantage of AI-powered search, similar-photo detection, image selection tools, sharing, and more.

🚀 AI is changing photography workflows faster than ever.

But the biggest opportunities aren’t AI-generated images—they’re helping photographers spend less time organizing, searching, and culling photos.

In our latest article, we explore how AI is transforming:

📸 Photo culling
🔍 Content-based photo search
🗂️ Organization and cataloging
⚡ Workflow automation
🤝 Client delivery and collaboration

We also look at how modern tools can identify visually similar photos, surface the strongest image in a series, and help photographers find photos by what’s actually in them—not just folders and keywords.

I didn’t start building Snowdrift because the world needed another cloud storage company.

I started building it because I kept seeing photographers spend an incredible amount of time managing photos instead of working with them.

Uploading.
Organizing.
Searching.
Backing up.
Sharing.

Each task had its own tool, subscription, and workflow.

It felt backwards.

Technology should get out of the way and help people focus on what they do best.

My vision for Snowdrift is simple:

When photographers think about their photos, they shouldn’t have to think about where they’re stored, how they’re backed up, or which app they need to open.

They should just be able to find what they need and get back to creating.

That’s what we’re building. by @snowdriftai

🚀 New release!

Snowdrift now has:

🍎 A native Mac app
🪟 A native Windows app
📸 A Lightroom Classic plugin

You can now select photos in Lightroom and send them directly to Snowdrift through the desktop app.

Our goal is simple: spend less time moving files between tools and more time creating.

This is a huge milestone for Snowdrift, and we’re excited to finally put it in your hands.

How many tools does it take to manage a photography business? 🤔

For many photographers:

📸 Lightroom
☁️ Dropbox
💾 Backblaze
📤 Client galleries
🔍 Another tool for finding photos later

The more photos you shoot, the harder it becomes to keep everything organized.

We compared the top photo storage options for photographers in 2026 and looked at what each platform does well—and where photographers still end up stitching multiple tools together.

Today I'm introducing Snowdrift.

Snowdrift is a platform for photographers to store, search, cull, and deliver their photos.

I've spent the last couple years building it because I believe photographers deserve something better than a collection of disconnected tools for backup, organization, AI culling, and client delivery.

Snowdrift brings those workflows together into a single platform.

Today, Snowdrift includes:

• Photo backup and storage
• AI-powered search
• AI culling
• Albums and client sharing
• Lightroom integration
• Desktop apps for Mac and Windows

This is just the beginning.

I'll be sharing what I'm building, lessons learned, and updates as Snowdrift grows.

If you're a photographer, I'd love to hear how you currently manage your photo library. by @snowdriftai
