Freeform & Flow: Abstract Stained Glass Design with @runaglassworks at @snowfarmcraft

Still smiling from this experience.

What an honor to take a class with Chevonne — fun, thoughtful, incredibly knowledgeable, encouraging, and generous with her experience. I learned a ton, made beautiful pieces, lots of new friends, and left feeling very inspired to keep playing and creating.

First time at Snow Farm Craft, but definitely not my last. Something tells me I’ll be back. taken in Snow Farm: The New England Craft Program by @snowfarmcraft

Inspired by this wonderment and interest in perspective, glass artist Josh Simpson embarked on his own exploration of the cosmos. Born on August 17, 1949 and educated at Hamilton College, in Clinton, New York (1972), much of Simpson’s career in glass has been dedicated to communicating his fascination with the earth and its role as our planet, first through entertaining demonstrations for middle schoolers, then with art lovers worldwide. He has enthusiastically shared his glass art in much the same way the astronauts shared their experiences – with any man, woman or child whose heart fills with excitement just thinking of the possibilities.

Hearts symbolize love, and hearts encased in glass are enduring and timeless. What better way to say “I love you forever and always” to anyone you love, forever and always! ❤️

Beth Lipman is an American artist whose sculptural practice generates from the Still Life genre, symbolically representing the splendor and excess of the Anthropocene and the stratigraphic layer humanity will leave on earth. Assemblages of inanimate objects and domestic interiors, inspired by private spaces and public collections, propose portraits of individuals, institutions, and societies.

Join me at Snow Farm on October 1-4 for a sustainable fiber workshop! Challenge yourself to make meaning from discarded materials when excess is everywhere! Learn traditional and modern fiber art fabrication and assemblage techniques while working with post consumer materials and found objects. Explore methods for building with fabric and wire, basic soft sculpture techniques, and how to create fibrous material from discarded plastic packaging. Students will craft unique sculptural forms while experimenting with techniques. All levels welcome.

Great fun creating this collaboration with Todd Conover while at @snowfarmcraft this week. We decided right away: the proceeds from the sale would go to benefit Snow Farm. What followed surprised us all!!

Every time we agree to collaborate, I create first. So I asked my students what I should make, and Kathy suggested that it be a crow. So a crow was born out of fire.

After some discussion, Todd came up with this stunning necklace.
It was an immediate hit! I loved it and even bid on it. My bid was quickly surpassed…

My students conspired to put the top bid in and gifted the necklace to me — a beautiful moment for us all!
I am now the grateful keeper of this beautiful gift with wonderful memories which Amanda might borrow to wear to the Met Gala!
