Hi friends, I’m delighted to announce that I have a page in next year’s Footprint Workers Co-op Calendar, along with a whole load of other excellent artists. Humbled. I’ll be bringing riso-printed zines, riso prints, badges and stickers featuring sparkly polka-dotted skulls. Not nervous at all. Nothing like trying to plug an event twelve hours before it starts, so hi there!! I have a table at the wonderful York Zinefest tomorrow and I will be bringing a load of colourful riso prints in both A4 and A3 sizes, riso-printed and/or glittery badges, sparkly Bad Santa stickers, and I’ve even made a bunch of new zines (will wonders never cease?!) many riso-printed, and some reprints in new colourways. Riso Club at Thin Ice Press turned one this past week, so naturally I had to make a commemorative poster for the occasion.

Bright red and aqua with small dots on both layers; printed in both colourways.
Artwork is hand-drawn except for the text.

Last minute preparation, as ever, for the wonderful @yorkzinefest tomorrow — I will be bringing riso prints, homemade stickers, skull-peppered cyanotypes, badges (if I get them made today!) and my new ultra-mini 16 page zine Zine Envy, topically about procrastinating getting ready for a zine fest and which comes in a tiny miniature stripy paper bag with stickers included ✨

Finally got round to putting the Skull Forest collage affair through the riso, using the original as one layer and a manually-doctored copy as the second. Two colours — aqua blue and sunflower.

Cyanotype over risograph prints — May 2025. On a semi-abstract-retrofuturist-mid-century-modern diversion right now.
.
I painted the whole print area with the cyanotype chemicals, then used an acetate overlay with the print details I wanted to retain blocked out in black acrylic. The starry texture was created with poppy seeds and salt grains.

(If you want to try this process yourself, I recommend starting with thicker paper than I did 🤡)
