Just been reading the Daisy series by Kes Gray, with my 10yo. Sometimes, we have cosy den times. Sometimes, she sorts through dress up (with particular favour to Harry Potter). Sometimes, she likes to film little scenes with her cuddlies and a camera. Always a lot of variety needed 🙂

Matlock Bath Non-illuminations!

Our girls love to see the lights and boats of the Matlock Bath illuminations, but do not enjoy the busyness or fireworks (but it is a lovely event which gets sold out every year, if you would like to see these for real. They have different acts on too, like k-pop demon hunters and frozen characters, among others, and a little fairground).

Each year, we go and see the lights and boats on a weekday, and this year Little One was lucky enough to go twice (and have fish and chips the second time)!

Always a nice post-dinner (or with dinner) visit!

For the second half of my recent Solo day in Sheffield, I visited the botanical gardens. Divided up into different areas, and time to enjoy an enormous scone did calm my anxious soul somewhat (but nowhere near completely).

Recent Solo Walk along the Porter Brook Trail, up to a summit above Sheffield, and back along the other side of the trail. Would be a nice one to do with the girlies at some point, especially with a nice snack stop in the middle (there would probably be moaning about the summit climb, though).

What my 10yo and I have most recently read together, and what she likes to do whilst I'm reading it (and the snuggly den she created for when she's reading it)!

We recently spent the afternoon @clumberparknt with some friends. We took a walk to the bridge, looped back, and had some ice cream. We then had a game of Giant Chess and some time at the play park. Lots of fun in a beautiful (and big) setting!

Films we watched in September as a family, and how we found them. After a lot of disagreements and fighting, we came up with the girls putting 3 films in a hat each, and then them being picked blind for the next 6 weeks.

It's working pretty well, though after my 6yos were picked 2 weeks in a row, the 10yo had to have one of her films the third week, of course!

Visiting @chatsworthofficial (and a little loop around the Country Fair - Little One enjoyed watching some of the dog events as we went round). Always a different route to follow!
