June 2024 - Paris Food Part 2
Le Mary Celeste (French food meets tapas), The Cambridge Public House (creative bar), Avant Comptoir (for our favorite butter tower), Harry’s Bar (inventor of the Bloody Mary), Tiger Bar (our favorite local bar in the 6th), SEPTIME (we FINALLY got a reservation and while my photos are terrible, the food was stunning!) And finally just a “few” of the items we brought home 🤣

June 2024 - Paris Food Part 1
We had TOO many meals and hit TOO many bars to count, but I need these photos to drool over.
Comptoir Sur Mer (stunning seafood/crudo), Régis Huitrerie (favorite oyster stop), Danico (must go to bar), Brasserie Dubillot, La Maison Isabelle (best croissants), Clamato (sister restaurant to Septime, wonderful seafood), Little Red Door (iconic bar), Patisserie Stohrer (oldest pastry in Paris), Caractère de Cochon (best little sandwiches and charcuterie), Le Syndicat (bartender’s bar), Eels (must stop icon), cheese spread in our hotel room, Benoit.

May/June 2024 - Paris Part 1, the sights.
Whirlwind trip to see our favorites and celebrate getting back to travel. Sacré Cœur, Notre Dame, Sainte Chapelle (my most favorite place in Paris), Montmartre, Bourse de Commerce - Pinault, E. Dehillerin (Julia Child’s favorite cooking supply store), Palais Garnier.

May 2024 - Finally back to traveling again! A post recovery trip to France to kickoff the next chapter in life. We started in Reims - with stops to Epernay, Avenay-Val-d’Or and Champagne. Highlights were the Chagall stained glass at the Reims Cathedral, beautiful champagne countryside views, and our most favorite Champagne by the lovely Pierre Morlet.

This weekend marks the 10th anniversary of the launch of the world’s first all electric propulsion satellites! 702SP was, and is still, the best program and team I’ve ever been lucky enough to work with. These photos always bring back great memories 🚀🛰️🛰️💫
1. Launch of ABS-3a and Satmex-7 satellites out of Cape Canaveral, FL
2. Celebration cakes for contract win in 2012 and once the vehicles were delivered in 2015

I had many goals in mind by the time I reached 40 - finances, work-life balance, fitness, mindfulness... but 2023/2024 brought different challenges. After celebrating my birthday, doing what I love most (travel!!), I’m so thankful simply to be alive, to be healthy, and to spend time with the people I love 🎉✈️💜

In October 2023, exactly one month after my 39th birthday, I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma - a form of breast cancer. I immediately started a course of treatment to combat this aggressive, but responsive, diagnosis. After a successful partial mastectomy in December, I began a 12 week course of chemotherapy in January of this year. And then I recently completed a daily 4 week course of targeted radiation therapy during the months of April and May.

My treatment involved the expected exhaustion and pain. But I also endured symptoms I never anticipated; those which were much harder to undergo. While my symptoms were vast, I am relieved that my body was responsive to my course of treatment. I’m amazed by my body’s strength and resilience.

Through every scan, test, biopsy, surgery, infusion, blood draw, injection, scalp cold-cap, medication - I’ve been supported by an incredible and compassionate team. I am extremely grateful for the medical care received through UCLA Santa Monica Cancer Care team. Thank you to my hematology oncologist, radiation oncologist, surgeon, RNs, chemotherapy nurses, cold-cap therapist, nurse navigator, and office support - it took a village.

This is the toughest thing I’ve ever done and by no means did I get through it alone. I am beyond thankful for the love and support I have received during this time. The texts, calls, flowers, tortillas & queso, cards, homemade & delivered food, fuzzy blankets, stuffed seals & turtles, slippers, sweaters, LEGOs, sourdough, books, lotions, tea, and LOVE - so much love - I’m forever thankful and deeply amazed by the outpouring of support. This has been an emotional and physical strain, not only for myself, but on my partner and family as well. Y’all’s support has been the foundation and motivation for my recovery. I can’t ever convey the full depth of my appreciation, so simply, thank you!

Today I received a cancer free diagnosis from my oncologist (!!!) and will work on the next steps of continuos maintenance therapy. But for now, it’s time to get back to more time together, more love, and more travel! 💗🍾 by @snugogram
