Hey yall 👋🏽 I know there are some new faces here, let me introduce myself.My name is Carmen. They call me Carm 😉I’m born and raised in Philadelphia. Iam proudly of Puerto Rican and Native American decent. I went to Penn State University Main Campus. While there I interned for MTV, ESPN and WGN News in Chicago. I graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Broadcast Journalism. From graduating there I was traveling, living, indulging in my other love in life ice cream 🤪🍦all while starting my own podcast Hoops with Carm in 2019. I began to collab with local podcasters, doing guest podcast appearances. In 2021 I became apart of The Run It Back Sports Show, an FM Sports Radio show in Philly 🤙🏽📻MILESTONE ✨ In 2022 I got a job at WRDE Coast TV, the NBC affiliate in Southern Delaware. I worked as a local news reporter.. on TV every day going live, editing and shooting my own content for the nightly news.Fast forward, my contract Ended, did a little traveling and I moved back to Philadelphia from there I revamped my passion project Hoops with Carm doing sideline interviews and at game coverage.“Hoops” as I call it became more than just a passion project, but a direction that I’ve gone full force toward and it has opened up many amazing opportunities and new partnerships. New partnerships like Basketball Society 💙 and with that I’ve been working freelance as Sports Reporter doing sideline reporting, hosting sporting events and games plus color commentating. Why am I doing this? My passion has always been sports. I’ve loved sports since I was a kid and not just basketball but football, boxing, any sport was my thing. Imagine “little Carm” playing basketball in my driveway 🏀 I had real hoops dreams! All that brings me to today where I see my future as a sports broadcaster, personality.. national and hey GLOBAL. 🌎🎙️⭐️Thank you for following me. What a season on the sideline 🏈🎤⭐️I had the privilege of doing sideline reporting for the Jersey Shore Wave @jerseyshorefootball at all of their home games this season. I even got to do color commentating for a couple games. It was my first time working with @wnfcfootball and I had a blast covering these bad ass ladies as they really showed that football, playing hard and emphasis on hitting hard lol knows no gender!I was honored to get to also cover the WNFC eastern regions playoffs and semi final in Washington DC. It was great getting to know and working with all the players, staff and coaches across the WNFC. Being a woman in sports there’s nothing better than covering women’s sports. It just hits different.Also special shoutout to @thesfbn and everyone in production for all your hard work and patience making our broadcasts happen, thank you.
