A little glimpse into my process during my time at Openbach Summer Residency ✨

This residency has been a beautiful opportunity to slow down, experiment, and develop my ideas through weaving and textile. Being surrounded by new perspectives, different artistic practices, and such inspiring artists made this experience even more special.

غارها، نخستین بستر آفرینش تصویر برای انسان بودند؛
بی‌آنکه انسان خود بداند در حال آفرینش هنر است.

پیش از آن‌که تصویر، روایت یا هنر باشد،
ردّی از حضور انسان بود؛
دستی که بر دیواره‌ی تاریک غار نقش می‌بست
تا بگوید: «من اینجا بوده‌ام.»

این اثر بازگشت به همان لحظه است؛
لحظه‌ای که دست، میان حضور و تصویر،
نخستین نشانه را بر جای گذاشت.

Caves were the first spaces where humans created images,
without knowing that they were creating art.
Before an image became a story or a work of art,
it was a trace of human presence;
a hand pressed against the dark cave wall,
as if to say: “I was here.”

This work returns to that moment—
the moment when the hand, between presence and image,
left behind one of the first marks.

غارها، نخستین بستر آفرینش هنر انسان بودند؛
بی‌آنکه انسان خود بداند در حال آفرینش هنر است.

تصویر حیوان، پیش از آن‌که نقاشی باشد،
تلاشی برای پیروزی بر آن بود؛
غلبه‌ای بر حیوان،
در اعماقِ تاریکِ غار.

این اثر بازگشت به همان لحظه است؛
لحظه‌ای که تصویر، میان شکار و هنر شکل گرفت.

Caves were the first spaces of human art,
before art was even known as art.
The image of the animal was an attempt to conquer it—
a victory over the animal
in the dark depths of the cave.
A return to the moment
when image became art.

From September 3rd to 24th, 2026, come and discover the end-of-residency exhibition of the forty artists who participated this summer in our artistic program.

This year again, the practices we welcomed are very diverse: drawing, painting, textiles, collage, and photography.

Come to the opening or register to participate in our meetings and experiences during the exhibition. At these events, you can meet the artists and exchange with them about their artistic practices!

Opening reception: Thursday, September 3rd, from 5 PM to 10 PM – Free entry

Wednesday, September 23rd: Closing event, 6 PM–9 PM – Free entry

⁨ همیشه حضور توی یه نمایشگاه بین‌المللی خارج از ایران، یکی از رویاهای بزرگ زندگیم بود.
فکر می‌کردم اگه یه روز بهش برسم، از شدت خوشحالی خوابم نبره و اون روز تبدیل بشه به یکی از قشنگ‌ترین روزهای زندگیم.

اما وقتی این اتفاق افتاد، ایرانِ عزیزم داشت یکی از غمگین‌ترین روزهاش رو می‌گذروند…
و من هم وسط همون روزها، غمگین‌تر و خسته‌تر از چیزی بودم که بتونم برای این اتفاق خوشحال باشم.

به سختی کارم رو برای نمایشگاه فرستادم.
تمام مدت منتظر بودم عکس‌های نمایشگاه رو ببینم، که شاید یک لحظه حس کنم بخشی از من هم کنار اثرم اونجاست، توی پاریس.
اما درست تمام دو ماهی که نمایشگاه برقرار بود، اینترنت ایران قطع بود…
و من حتی یه عکس هم از نمایشگاه ندیدم.
انگار بین ما و جهان، یه دیوار کشیده بودن.

از اولین روزی که اتود این کار رو زدم تا تمام لحظه‌هایی که داشتم اجراش می‌کردم، فقط به این فکر می‌کردم که کاش صدای جنگل‌های هیرکانی، قبل از خاموش شدنشون، یه جایی شنیده بشه.
کاش آدم‌های بیشتری بدونن داریم چی رو از دست می‌دیم.
کاش هنر بتونه حتی خیلی کم، اثری بذاره.

و حالا، وسط تمام این تلخی‌ها، خوشحالم که حداقل تونستم کاری کنم که یه تکه از دغدغه‌هام، از ایران، از جنگل‌های هیرکانی… روی دیوارهای یک نمایشگاه اون‌طرف دنیا دیده بشه.

Parcourir cette section de l’exposition Les Variations Textiles 2026 autour des techniques en transmissions, c’est entrer dans un espace où la retenue chromatique ouvre un champ d’attention élargi. Les œuvres s’y déploient dans des gammes restreintes, invitant le regard à se concentrer sur la matière, les volumes et les modulations de surface.

Cette section met en avant la technique comme socle de la pratique artistique. Les gestes précis, répétés et maîtrisés témoignent d’un savoir transmis, appris dans le temps long, souvent hérité de traditions artisanales.

Cette section propose une immersion dans un art du textile attentif, où la transmission des savoirs et la recherche formelle se rejoignent dans une expérience à la fois visuelle et sensible.
